The first part is 100% legit. As long as you buy a different nft these are unique assets unlike fungible coins

As for the second part, the laws are unclear so it’s a grey area. But you are effectively losing access to something you paid for and getting something unrelated to the contract address of the token you burn.

Even some tax softwares state this is possible. Although I dont doubt that by the time they understand our markets in a few decades they’ll put some rules against this

If you have the dotswoosh account and you purchased a of1 box and opened it then on I think it’s the 18 or 20th the SNKRS app will email you about the shoe drop and you can purchase through there app. It is 1 pair per account and it is limited to the amount of boxes sold or less.
