that's a broad question. i think every project is different and its tough to just nail it down that simply. for example - i value degods because of the tangible irl relationships i have built in that community and because i have completely derisked and am essentially holding risk free. i value pudgy penguins for completely different reasons: belief in the mission/potential IP play. i think every project has its own strengths to be valued. i love sneakers, always have and my dog's name is Nike so theres intrensic value in that alone w/ regard to RTFKT. just trying to understand the complex ecosystem that exists here

If youre willing to just “pay” for something at face value, then more than likely, so will someone else. Then its easier to dig around when you have a bit of direction. for sure - from my perspective; theres clonex, eggs, and a whole bunch of other collections (some with forging, some that the forging window has already passed, and some that dont have forging). as someone not currently in the ecosystem its almost impossible to piece it all together to determine what to buy if anything

The way i look at it, clones are to center of the ecosystem (things like collabs will probably come into play), mnlth is probably leaning towards nike, eggs towards lore, pods towards metaverse. Im not the most savvy with this project but from the outside looking in, thats what i see.

From there you can decide what you want to be apart of in a sense of consumer. I feel as if getting physicals is achievable for anyone just watching the project

they use a digital printing technique

hats appear to be a dye process. reactive dye maybe, then assembled

socks are sublimation, which is insane, because all the design will scratch/rub off almost instantaeously

DTG printing can make sense in a tshirt because you're not pressing your weight against a sweaty foot and a shoe all day on the front of your chest

they didnt use DTG for hoodies or shirts that i have seen yet. they used a heavy plastisol screen print method

but the socks.... well, you can see in photos what happened. you can register(align) the design on two sides, if the material is handled. thats why when doing a multi colour screen print the shirt is attached to the paddle with spary glue

that one actually came out decent.... but you can see a couple things... basically, they steam press the socks, and then print one side, flip and print another side... but the printer cannot print the sides.... so you get a white line going up the sides of the socks where there was no print applied....

totally agree with you I worked in clothing design, and I can assure you that rtfkt are just incompetent in this area

secondly: none of the design matches the two halves. it is particularly bad in places where you have brights and darks and lights and high level of detail... in this case: murakami would probably want his name to be legible, and to not look busted redbubble style

so.... why did the murakami hoodies and shirts not ship? because: it's very easy to take an image and overlay it digitally onto a piece of clothing... redbubble style. but in reality, the curves of each panel to make a shirt are completely different for each size of shirt/hoodie/ etc.... so... basically, if they are trying to digitally print this stuff.... well... they will never be able to get good registration, will need to make custom print design for each panel for each size.... and in the end, it will be basically impossible to get proper QC because the technical method has not caught up with traditional methods of printing

i worked in design, but i worked in print shops too... and i worked as a consultant in cutting edge textile manufacturing area

both sides. and whatever has happened here is an insane level of attention to detail... and some items coming out perfect no complaints... but some stuff coming out so busted its embarrassing. $100 pair of socks shouldnt be sold for more than $15 max.... clonex genesis socks were full machine knit. same with reptiles. but the reptile socks have a bunch of imperfections, to me it seems like: the tensioning was off, as the knit weave is very abnormal. also, lots of wollies from the blue colour in the yellow green which to me means technician wasnt cleaning the machine area nearly enough

choosing sublimation for these socks is..... like.... wtf? luxury brand? fr?

i have done everything from hand painting shirts to being on sewing machine making my own pants and hoodies. i had a job when i was young with an old sikh textile master, and did designs for him and worked as a tech. like 178 ft long textile paneled tree of life for a synagogue. using airbrush to custom paint the blinds for a skyscraper new york investment bank for their board room.... $10k custom kimonos... i have set hand painted silk scarves. all sorts of weird technical stuff. then worked in a few screen printing shops doing apparel.... and then worked as a consultant in the future design manufacturing area.

hats have their good points. quality material, doubled cloth on the front two panels on the inside..... the embroidery is hella puffy.... but its all white canvas digitally printed. in the original designs, the reptile hat and the undead hat are a kind of stone washed/acid washed. final product is flat colours. they had no problem with the stone wash effect on the reptile shirt... which they nailed, and got perfect.

that sock too, i know whose sock that is... and the registration on their sock is actually the best i have seen. but still, it's off by a lot. and you put the sock on and that thin layer of sumbimation only sits on the top liminal surface. it does not penetrate, and the pigment does not bind with the fibres very well

Assuming you minted then you have forged is simultaneously during minting and have no need to worry. To check this go to your shoe on opensea and check for this trait (seen in picture) if yours says forged then you don’t need to do anything at the moment

but if you do choose to buy those nfts, please don't do it until you figure out how you got compromised

@grim birch sorry to hear about this. It looks like there's 2 possibilities here for what happened.

1. You gave approval to a malicious wallet through a setApprovalForAll scam. This means that someone/some scam website had you accept a transaction which essentially gave another wallet approval to access your NFTs.
2. With above said, it's a bit weird because the wallet also transferred ETH into your wallet as you didnt have enough ETH in your wallet to complete the transaction. Usually when that happens that means your seed phrase/private key was leaked and they likely have full access to your wallet..but based on the limited transactions that happened, we can't say if this is for sure. However, if you plan to rebuy any NFTs or load more ETH, I would err on the side of caution and create a completely new wallet with a new seed phrase just in case

in fact, i just checked

the wallet that they sent the forged nfts to didnt even sell them

anyways, if you do decide that you would like to rebuy another forged nft so you can connect them together once you receive your physical shoes, make sure that you create a brand new fresh wallet with a new seed phrase as max mentioned

id be happy to guide you to the nft you'd need in order to pair them together

but since the shoes arent shipping until sometime around october, there's no real rush to go and buy the forged nft again immediately

you have plenty of time to get your stuff sorted out and make a decision
