Discord would be ALOT easier
That’s the thing. Whatever communication improvements they add to the game, they would never match the features of a fully featured app like discord for it. Much rather have my team fully engaged and communicate through discord and let the dev team work on improving the game mechanics. Not features we already outsource.
I use discord for voice chat, but i need a way for players to see messages permanently not everyone knows how to use discord or check channels for announcements
With all the new seasons and shows coming out in the GoT universe that will bring in people to play if they advertise well, and why not having a few QoL changes for them
Is ok if you don't want to accept the feedback. But the best QoL you can get for your team and their communication, organization and social aspect is to bring them all into a team discord server.
They are lol its just theres a few that dont understand how to use it properly
First thing i did was make a discord server
Well as the t1, you should educate your team on how to use it, you can create a room for you and t2s if you want so you can communicate better. You can tag your bannermen in case of emergencies since alot of people turn off notifications in game. Its up to you though. Further into the game you get you will need discord if any of you want to play at the paramount or even smaller sops levels. Good luck out there
I understand what you mean, yea im sorry for asking the devs to add something helpful into a game thats popping again after a while
I think the thing to remember is development resources are limited. So every idea has a "cost" to it. If they spend time on idea A that means some other idea isn't being done.
So I think allot of the feedback you're getting is, hey, we agree team communication is importhant and we already solved that problem, here is how.
As much money as I’ve seen people spending in just my kingdom, they should be able to to make a mass email option. Evony:The Kings Return is newer than GoT:C, and they have made it possible. They also made it possible to be able to send screen shots within Alliance chat and whisper chats(pretty much a direct message, but instead of being mail, it’s and the chat section, so it’s easier to see), share battle reports in all chats, share voice recordings in all chats, AND the use of freaking emojis. It does not make any sense that this game can not do the same. Like what in the hell are they putting all the money that people spend towards?
New shows lol
Why compete with discord when no matter what is offered in game will come close to what it has. VC alone is so essential to running sop battles so you have to use discord regardless
And let’s say something got implemented by WB like allegiance announcements. The way the allegiance system works is all relying on who is T1 and who is in banners at the time. If an announcement is sent it would only reach the people currently in banners. If you were out you wouldn’t get it. You could make some messages sticky somewhere like bookmarks. But then when you swap T1s, like a lot of teams do, those messages go away as is then is considered a different allegiance. Hence why keep recommending advanced communications go great in a place like discord.
You could send a message in the allegiance chat tab🙃
GOTC's alliance structuring doesn't allow promotion or demotion of existing members the same way that other similar games work, which is how players are able to change leaders in those games without needing to reshuffle the entire alliance/allegiance/team/clan. Those games having teams as their own separate entity is how messages are able to be broadcasted or permanently added to the team without changing or being deleted when players leave or change rank.
A broadcast raven message could still be an option, with the message being added in a separate tab in Notices
And as far as discord being easier for most players to manage, not everyone can get discord for various reasons, including restrictions in certain countries. Having basic communication features is still necessary in a largely social game that requires communication with teams and other players.
Thank you @wispy mauve
Glad you agree the game covers basic communication features already. No need for advanced cludgy stuff. Unless now we are negotiating what basic means.
I guess we are. Since there's a pretty short message history available in alliance chats, and this is a global game with players online at all different times of day in all time zones, having a message broadcast feature would allow team leadership to ensure everyone gets important information within the game, without requiring external resources that they may or may not have access to.
The broadcast message could be, for example: “get on discord for an important announcement”
🤣🤣 but nah realistically its more like “NO SOP ATTACKS UNTIL THE WEEKEND” or announcing NAP’s But yes most definitely will be “GET ON DISCORD BEFORE SOP UNLOCKS”
& some ppl cant use social media like discord due to their profession, etc. Have a teammate who is a judge with 0 socials. Better in game comms are needed!!
They arnt going to add add anymore communication within game. We get what we get and thats it. And 98% of the player base that spends money all use discord or an alternative method. I said what i said.
If they were to add that the game would completly crash imo and we have enough issues as it is
Well then someone should tell you teammate that he can have a discord without putting his real name or picture on it. If he doesn’t reveal any personal information then nobody will know their profession or who they are.
I love how these arguments always boil down to "We don't trust WB not to mess it up"
Mr. Well Then,
SHE understands that. Weird assumption it’s a man. People know how to hack technology, regardless of what any platform says or does. You go put people in prison for a living then you get to dictate how the people that are brave enough and dedicated enough to do that choose to lead their lives on the Internet and otherwise. Weird as duck that people cannot just let others speak and have an opinion or an experience without having to spin it in a weird or negative way. Also, why so many people don’t like this kind of platform… too many keyboard warriors all in one ducking place. Hope you have the week you deserve!!!! Be well.
For real doesn’t even have to be an argument! So many individuals no longer have the capacity to just hold it back-and-forth conversation without their ego driving it. Well wishes to you and I hope you’re having a beautiful week!
My assumption was “weird” but then you go and assume right away. I’m not a Mr. and I’ve never been on a team that didn’t have discord as a non negotiable requirement. No real competitive team takes players that don’t have discord. It’s impossible to run attack or defensive without discord and if you don’t attack or defend then I assume you just gather or farm and for that I suppose you don’t need a discord. So it seems like your team have figured it out. If you need to post the coords to the gold nodes you can just use AC. Problem solved.
Apologies. I did make that mistake & and I definitely know better. The thing is, I never spoke on your experience. I made a comment about someone I know & our shared experience. You interjected your experience and your reality. Realities are different. Ever considered a group might be newer and is building and learning? Ever consider making an exception for an amazing team member? Different teams, different brains. Not engaging in circle talk.
Well then hopefully your friend doesn’t spend money at least because any advanced game play requires discord. No war team would take members that can’t participate fully. It’s not a circle talk. It’s the reality.
You don’t have to hope or worry about my friend. Another assumption, the game I’m referring to is not a war team right now. This is not circle, was just making it clear that I won’t do that. Also, I am not negating your experience or your comments. Most of what you said it’s pretty on point and agreeable.
Improved alliance communication wouldn't need to be a game-breaking feature. It'll be up to the game team to decide what will work and what won't. Anything from a separate tab between Messages and Notices, a third filter in Notices for "Allegiance", a separate section within messages for Alliance/Private messages, or just the ability to "pin" a limited number of messages to alliance chat so that they don't auto-delete after the chat fills up. We're mainly looking for better communication within alliances without as much need to rely on other sites or apps like Discord, but there could be several different ways to make it happen.
It’s clear you know what you’re talking about for the record. No one is trying to challenge you or your comments. Open dialogue has to go back-and-forth. Simple fact.
Exactly. A simple edit that allows for quick allegiance, announcements, event reminders. Just a couple little tweaks. Hundred percent appreciate and rely on Discord too myself!!
The issue is that the t1 determines the alliance. If the t1 shuffles as far as the game is concerned this is a completely different alliance after the shuffle. So unless your t1 never changes this feature is not doing much.
So no matter what we say it is an impossible feature according to you and you don’t even work for Warner Brothers. Got it I am leaving this conversation.
It is possible. It seems simple to just add another tab. I just fail to see the usefulness of it since my team shuffle every week so every week there is a new t1. And all that relies on the t1 never moving.
*** as you well know not everyone is on your team. It’s OK for others to benefit from something and some people not. But thank you for turning the conversation back towards a productive thought process.
As you well know not all teams are alt teams that don’t engage in the intended game play so for WB to consider a feature it needs to be beneficial for the majority of spenders 😂
Hundred percent true about that money angle!!!
Stupid arguments are boring. Legit just trying to have a conversation. Multiple views and opinions make a conversation progress
Next communication lesson I charge for 🤣 i’m not an aggressive keyboard warrior so you’re not gonna bait me anyways. I come here to learn so I can best support both of my teams.
Justice4Justices! I hope your campaign for Judges vs WB reaps rewards
You’re gonna have to hate me for not getting the reference/sarcasm, whatever was intended, went over my head
I hear both sides to the argument all I gotta add is that discord is banned in certain countries while the game isn’t. Idk governments and stuff. So yeah this feature would be a pretty neat qol improvement that should not cost a ton to implement.
It will also help those who have difficulty with the translation bots on discord too and the in game translator works just that little bit better and is consistent with all the various languages and regions around the world
An allegiance message system. My other game has one. I could write one message and send it to the whole guild, all at once. It was helpful
There is banner chat.
Yeah... But that relies on T2s cascading the message. Essentially this player wants access to all banner chats being at the top. Imo not a terrible idea just not sure how they'd work that out
Discord 😑
Can we just not ask for add ons that will create more game issues when we have DISCORD
Again "We don't trust WB not to mess it up" 😂
It's more to do with "why spend time to try and mimic a small bit of the functionality already in discord" which brings us right back to the beginning
Which brings us back to some people not having Discord.
💀
Then sadly those people will miss out on a lot of the game experience
The best part of the game is not even the game. It’s the relationships created on discord !
So we should spend the limited developer resources we have on an inferior solution to a problem only faced by a tiny subset of the player population?
It would be an improvement to in game communication, with or without discord.
I’m not sure what you are doing here - you offer “reasonably sounding” suggestions in a “just trying to help” way whilst fully aware that communication for the majority is done via discord. You know there suggestions you make aren’t really needed and will be difficult and costly to implement yet you persist. To reiterate: no in game communication will compare to how widely used discord is. I’m not sure why you are continuing with this devils advocate line every time
This channel is for game suggestions. If you don't like the suggestion, dont give it a ✅. Idk why some of you guys argue against suggestions like you're personally paying the Warner Bros' development team out of your own pocket.
Because we are
Because aren't actually being helpful despite giving the impression you are because I suspect you like the attention
Attention? Nobody even checks this server unless they work here, are looking for a kingdom sever, or are having problems with the screen reader
An allegiance message system wouldn't need to be anything extensive. Just a separate tab like this, and messages with the same basic formatting as other Notices.
It’s always been done on Discord but honestly it is a reasonable request and should be considered
Wouldn’t need to be fancy
God forbid we put the coders to work, Acting like they not using chat gpt to code anyways
The "people" not using discord are also the people who spend 20$ here or there or are ftp anyway.
How is a user of this discord supposed to know whether their suggestion is "difficult" or "costly" to implement?
Ok how about "easy" and "cheap" but completely unneeded? Is that better?
I'd say best practice would be for users to let their opinion stand on its own merit without making up data points they simply have no way of knowing such as "cost" or "ease of implementation". You feel this is an unnecessary addition to the game because discord offers a better solution, I agree with you. But I think when you make up "facts" to bolster your argument you detract from the usefulness of this channel.
