Error while building or watching the Notes app project in local VS code

So I just finished the Notes App in Basic React course, and I've downloaded the files to local and using VS code to build and deploy, I followed the instruction as in README file and tried to watch & build using both npm & yarn but some error is popping as you cab see in the screenshot.

This syntax is working in Scrimba but in VS Code there's syntax error, also I want to mention that this code is original code in the course not mine own written.

@thorn pond Yeah, there are....issues with trying to deploy React apps from Scrimba to VSCode. I can give you a method for getting it running on local machine but you won't be able to deploy it.

As sad as it is, your best bet is to create a vite app and manually transfer your code over to deploy it.

yeah I've initially done it with Vite then saw that react-mde is not supporting so did it in Scrimba website

can you please tell me if I can deploy it without building it in local?

I just need to deploy the project and have the code in Github, running locally is not that important

Just FYI. Even building with Vite might not solve the issue unless they dowgrade to React 17 as the deps used (markdown editor - React Mde) is no longer maintened and the developer will not be upgrading it to work with React 18.
There is a fork of that dependency that works but needs some work which at this level (Notes App) the student might not really find it easy to work with.

if you really want to then you will have to rebuild it using Vite as Mist suggested and but make sure you use the same version of React and other dependencies used in the scrim.

And @thorn pond once again, you need to learn to be patient when you ask for help. There isn't a need to asking help everywhere.
