What are you running right now, which chipsets are you still looking for, and what have been the situations you've been preparing for?

(I promise this isn't to expose any Frozen Pool Auto-Shotgunners, just looking for a conversation ;D )

  • Semi-Auto: Changes the fire type to semi-automatic and increases damage by {0}%.
  • Full-Auto: Changes the fire type to full-automatic but decreases damage by {0}%.
  • Burst-Fire: Changes the fire type to burst fire but decreases damage by {0}%.

Military (Yellow):

  • Charged-Up: Make {0} kills to add a charge to the Combat Device.
  • Frozen-Pool: {0}% Chance to not consume any ammo on each shot.
  • Shatter: Deal +{0}% damage against Ice Armor.

Early days for the chipsets for my team. My sons favourite at the moment is the double damage at low health one. (Last stand) On horror you are more or less in a low health state anyway and that’s what we have got used to.

Frozen pool for me , especially on nm or horror where ammo is scarce. Also 0.3 extra damage one

If bloodfest increased the rate of fire, it would be my favorite chipsets, but now it only increase the damage.

Full-Auto on Service Pistol (seems to be better stable control in my offhand when single handing it)... I might go back to the SMG for higher levels and have to figure out what chip suits best for it, but right now I'm farming blue chips, so I am having a blast with the full auto pistols!

Insta-Kill on Arizona Falcon (15% chance, it's just too good to not use!)

Mag-Min on LMG (the increment increase of damage with such a high capacity magazine seems pretty solid)... yes, I know right now it's bugged if you don't let it run empty, but I always run it out.

Frozen Pool on Auto Shotgun (for playing with randos that spam them and for the "oh shit" moments)... still think that the Frozen Pool will be good when the chip is fixed so to extend the limited amount of red ammo you can carry.

First: not going to mention mag min it's obviously broken, not going to mention frozen pool which is broken on shotguns, not going to mention last stand, that's obviously really powerful but you can't use it on downtown at the end, not going to mention bloodfest, it's too situational when most of your enemies are not specials, not going to mention charged up, it depends too much on your teammates not killing as many as you.

Literally all guns benefit from flat crit immensely, but the ones that benefit the most already have a battery on it, especially the revolver.

Service pistol: honestly haven't found a good use for this gun since chips came out because a burst fire smg outclasses it in every way possible besides flat crit modifier.
Falcon: Instakill, it's 15%, who the heck thought 15% for falcon and 8% for revolver was ok?
Carbine: Instakill, 4%, the enemies have too much health on horror with mutators on, carbine just does piddly squat against them
SMG: Instakill, 2% or burst fire (basically a better burst service pistol because of firing rate) if you want something reliably controllable with lazier hands
MT-47: Burst fire, oddly. It increases the fire rate on a red barrel by a lot. Stick with carbine if you want insta-kill, it's still 4%.
Pump shotgun: Instant kill (7%) or flat fire rate, flat crit is also nice since all pellets become crits when it finally works.
Revolver: Kind of a garbage gun since falcon is 15% instant kill. Might be ok with flat crit since well, it's now a 30% chance.
LMG: Instant kill (3%)
Autoshotgun: Instant kill (6%), flat crit is also nice since all pellets become crits when it finally works.

Main issues with some of the chips being underpowered, a lot of it is classic game balance stuff:

  1. shatter/flat dmg: you have to stop thinking of things in terms of raw dps, you have to think of things in terms of effective dps, you can't have anything return a good value if you take the same number of shots to kill/shatter armor on something

If it takes 5 shots to kill without the chip
5 shots to kill with the chip

You gained literally nothing, you have to get that kind of mindset for balancing this sort of thing

  1. execution: if it's 10%, you might as well just shoot the damn thing a few more times, this basically only helps with the juggernaut and maybe the brute on double health mods, and most of the time they will be stunned and this won't really help you win

  2. semiauto: a lot of the reason why people use burst or full auto is controller limitations, we're not playing with mouses, it has to do more than just 10%

  3. full-auto: penalty should be decreased on revolver by a lot, right now it is an inferior falcon and even that on full auto is kind of crap

  4. burst: penalty should be decreased on service pistol, it is inferior to smg burst, I don't think this mod even belongs on revolver, but you have to decrease the penalty a lot

A chip set should have a visible and noticeable affect. Like the full auto on the service pistol. Many of the chips are pointless and not even noticeable when using them. An explosive bullet would be good for example or the ice shatters visibly when you use and ice breaker.

Revolver with Last stand, LMG (fully upgraded) with Mag-min or Bloodfest, SMG (fully upgraded) with mag min, and for the auto shotty the device charge chip.

Max Lmg instakill, Max Auto shotty instakill, Max Falcon instakill and Max Tommy gun with base grip and last stand

Is there a way to make a subthread for each difficulty? I actually find single tapping full auto revolver fun in survivor mode two handed with a gray barrel, it's a garbage chip as far as efficiency goes, but it's fun to play with.

LAST STAND is under rated, +100% damage is a ton in this game, and it's ok if one team mate stays behind on very low health (on almost all situations. If you reach a boss fight where you need health, heal and don't use the "last stand" weapon)

I use it with the MT-47
