In this case, you have to replace the V1 version(s) with empty .wem so that only the sound you replaced plays.
Btw, it's good to know that hit sounds are often linked to visual FX, not character. If the impact effect is the same, the sound will be the same.

No it was just a test to identify sounds. I'm currently making a huge spreadsheet with all sound reference.
