Making an Intel 11th Gen based server. Managed to use everything available, down to even the wireless card slot being used for the Coral AI TPU. Had to rewire an internal PC speaker and get some VGA to PWM fan headers. 🙂 The almost fully matte black look helps.

8 HDD, 8 SSD (4 NVMe, 4 SATA)

TLDR of the details in the manual, you'll need this info 🙂

  • The bandwidth offered by this is just enough that 8 HDDs all at full speed don't get throttled 1880 MB/s
  • This is SATA, not SAS
  • The PCB is very fragile, connect it to the cables before you put it in the case

I did, but I made the choice to trade use the M.2 port instead. The x16 slot can have up to 32GB/s of bandwidth no point wasting that on some HDDs that max out at 1.6 GB/s.
