It's been a few months since I've played, but my game used to launch just fine. Steam updated it today for me and when I go to play it, it won't launch. I get the error: "Couldn't start: "D:\Steam\steamapps\common\SunnySide\SunnySide\Binaries\Win64\SunnySide-Win64-Shipping.exe" SunnySide

How do I do that?
I found an article on how to do it on Steam, did it, and it came back with "1 file failed to validate and will be reacquired". Steam automatically started updating the game again, but it said it failed because of "Disk write error". This is probably a problem with my hard drive, right?

I just tried launching a few others and they gave no problems. My computer is also running normally.

how much room is on your hard drive?
steam does updates very strangely sometimes where it needs the full room of the game. It's a pain, but I know it does that with Sunnyside
one option, which i have a game i have to do this with regularly, is to uninstall and reinstall if you don't have room for the game to update normally

I will try to re-install now.
I have 720 GB free on that drive so I don't think that would've been it. Maybe just some weird glitch while installing this update I hope. I'll let you all know if re-installing helps!

I switched back to a previous Nvidia update, 560.81
I had to download it from the website directly but now my game is back to perfect condition, even able to run the graphics higher!

I tried it and it didn't work, but I'll try doing everything else again with this rolled back driver and see if it helps

Have you tried running steam or the game as administrator? That did the trick for me when I first got the game

If you have one, your antivirus might have blocked some SS files.

Running as admin unfortunately doesn't work either and no antivirus. It's not seeming like anything helps for some strange reason. I haven't had time to do all the steps every single time I try something new so I'll keep trying, but if anyone else has any suggestions let me know! I miss playing this game:( I've had it since the day it launched and it sucks that I can't play if after the last update:(

Just as an update: I was able to get it working.
I tried everything a bunch of times but had missed one thing. I have the antivirus Avast and didn't see where it kept quarantined items. Finally found that the other day and saw it kept adding the SunnySide updates to it. Got it out of there, made it an exception and now it's launching again!
