Hi, fam. Since a poll has been made and many people prefer to have aclosed teahouse instead of waiting for a house...

Would it be too hard for the team (asking the team, becasue y'all are the only ones who actually know the har work behind this gem of a game), or even possible, to delete the built in tea house table and chairs??
Or to make it so we can select it and delete it ourselves?

They look as of They're part of the tea house so this would peobably be hard to change, right??

Since the first day I treated the tea house as my own home, made my kitchen and "bedroom" there, but since it's not supposed to be a house a keep stumbling upon the tea table🤣🤣🤣

Of course this is just a suggestion, I can absolutely keep jumping over it.
It's more of a comfort thing.

I think Phillip should just give us the hut blueprints first. I mean, it's just a box. At least the one I built is just a box. He could tell us about the tea house, and that he'll find us that blueprint, but in the meantime, he wants us to have better shelter from storms than a tent. Or they can have Etsu step in and mention it would be best to worry about proper shelter before anything else if they really want to keep Phillip a Tea House fanboy.
I'm just saying that because it IS a cute little Tea House with a great view and it's another place to go on hangouts, but if our basic survival needs aren't being met...who really cares about a Tea House?! 😆 I'm sure we will all be able to appreciate it for what it's actually supposed to be once we aren't resentful at it because it's seemingly more important to the townspeople than our character living.

The thing is that the tea house would then need to be taken off as a hangout and all the interaction cutscenes removed.
Doors may be not a problem, but the table and fishing pier is where interacting happen.

Like... Turning the table into a smaller coffee/tea table?

#

Or taking away it's hitboxes??

There has been a LOT of questions around why on earth we chose to have the teahouse built before literally anything, and Chaos.Queen is right: The tea house is where hangouts happen.

The reason most farm games give you designated houses is because there needs to be a predictable place for cutscenes to happen. We need guarantee that the camera won't clip through anything, weird stuff won't be in the way, etc. The reason you're able to place your buildings anywhere in SunnySide is because the Tea House exists. This is the only designated spot on your farm. Other buildings that can't be deleted or moved (garage, shed, water pump, etc.) are immovable because they are necessary for whole systems to function properly. For an example of why this is important, look at the issue that were caused by people accidentally deleting their tents.

Initially, we weren't going to even give the option to build in the Tea House because of all the problems it can cause with cutscenes, but with the predictable camera angles, we hope people will realize and just move stuff if they had placed it in a weird spot.

It's a really weird balance of giving you enough power to design your space, but not so much power that stuff can break.

Ideally, we'd be able to lock cutscenes to objects like tables or chairs, and maybe we can look into that in the future (and potentially remove the lock on the table and chairs in the teahouse then) but until then, they have to stay put so that you can invite friends over for tea ^_^
