#Possible "Farm-to-Table" Meat Options?

I know that this is a very wholesome cozy game, so doing slaughtering/butchery personally would probably spoil the vibe for MANY people, but also...I'm carnivorous by nature. I see that we can raise livestock, and we can buy and cook meat, so...will we be able to eventually eat our own livestock?

The most plausible suggestion I have for a feature like this would be an extension of what Gabe does re:livestock. You could call him up or visit his shop, be like "hey I want you to take care of this one," pick said livestock with the drone like when you buy a new animal, maybe pay a service fee, and then overnight Gabe takes the animal away and sends you the meat from it. He is already a livestock rancher, who eats meat himself, so it's not opposed to his role (in my opinion). This would also save players who like cooking the headache of waiting for a specific cut of meat to be on rotation at the grocery store, and likely be more a more cost-effective way to get meat.

Ideally, this would also be implemented alongside the ability to breed animals, which I know is not currently in the game but I think is on the list? Anyway. I'm just a weirdo who just really likes meat, and ethically raising virtual livestock. Lemme virtually eat the ethically raised virtual livestock pls!

i like it and i think as long as the feature is not mandatory, then people can simply choice not to do it. at the start of the game there's a no-meat identifying option, so if you chose that, take that option out and everyone will be happy 🙂

This^^ I would very much like the option to raise my own livestock for meat instead of waiting for the chance that it cycles through the grocery store. OR! if possible can a store be placed in Higashi where we can ship our animals off to as a butcher shop? That way the gorey aspect of butchering isn't put on the player.

already put a suggestion against stock rotation btw 🤣 i think everyone hates stock rotation...

but yeah, butchering is also fine 😛 oh that makes me remember i wanted to put a suggestion for smoking!

for now i made it as a suggestion... and i also put one to make cooking actually meaningful... yk right now even if you make meat dishes or whatever you don#t get much out of it besides filling your hunger-bar.
you can't taste virtual food >.<

I mean, at the very least the store also sells cream, which can be ||put in a stand mixer with 1 salt and MAKE 4 butter||, but still.

imo if you know you need chicken thighs for a recipe, and the store only has chicken breast, then you're just out of luck even if you have TONS of chickens.

which is the main benefit of the butchery option imo - getting ALL the parts at once, from one livestock.

yeah that's also a bad part, this game is oddly specific with it's recipes, which is basically so realistic that it's already unrealistic again.

like recipes don't care if you add chicken thigh or chicken breast. and baked potatoes also taste good without black pepper. even without butter if you're hard boiled 🤣 for some even without salt. because a baked potato is initially just a potato that's baked.

but coming back to the topic you know what would be awesome? KOBE BEEF!
because what is kobe beef? It's basically beef || and i think we even have soime kind of beef already in cows || that get's a special kind of treatment, that gets rubbed and massaged and whatever until it's so freaking tender that you can basically drink it... call me weird but that's very well possible in the game.

basically the happier the cow is before you turn her into meat, the higher the grade is and... yeah then the only question is what does that matter but that topic i also already opened

I do wonder how difficult it would be to program "alternative recipes" in...like for|| butter, I know IRL you can make unsalted butter, but in-game if you don't add salt, then you just get whipped cream (which IRL would take adding sugar and is a WHOLE different process)|| (spoiler'd just in case someone wants to discover recipes for themselves)

total agreement on the "base" recipe thing tho - like there's another thread somewhere that I'm keeping an eye on, where several people are trying to fry an egg. Just a sunny-side up egg. Either it's not in the game yet, or ridiculously specific, because nobody's managed it yet XD
