My game crashes whenever I try to enter the caves, the rest of the game runs better than ever though and I didn't care much for the caves to start. However, am I locked out of any progression until it fixes?
I wondered if the caves are how you unlock ||more farms|| but I have ventured so little into them it's pure speculation.

Cave crash has happened to me a couple of times now as well. I'm not sure about unlocking subsequent farms, but the first farm you can unlock you can get without going into the caves.
Seems to be more of a time related trigger, I got a message from the town hall at the beginning of year 2 telling me about a property by the beach. When it becomes available a for sale sign pops up near the mailbox you can interact with to buy it.

Did you ever get this fixed? Everytime I try to go deeper into the caves my game crashes and it kinds sucks cause I need iron so bad.

@tacit loom no promises, but do you turn on Sparky's light in the caves?
If you do, try not turning on Sparky's light at any point.
Just navigate all mine related stuff without it.

Oh yeah normally I have it on. I just verified the files on steam as well and then went into the caves and they are working but I also have Sparky's light off so not sure which fixed it. Thank you for the advice thou!

Did you ever get this fixed? Everytime I try to go deeper into the caves my game...
also, an alternative collection method for iron is to use the bucket on the beach to collect metal scraps.
you can then put those through the recycling machines outside Tech Hero to get iron. 🙂
