You do for building the rest spots but its not required

You can make it through the caves with just healing items from the Clinic

There are "safe spots" in the caves where you'll see blueprints of a campsite, if you bring a tent and sleeping bag with you, you can rest at those spots to recover and pass the day instead of needing to return all the way home

I didn't get my tent and sleeping bag back after using one of these safe spots...are they gone forever? or do I need to find the spot I used and retrieve them?

I think my grocery store might be bugged. I've been checking every day for a sleeping bag and it's only ever been tent/umbrella 😢 I'm in summer now and still sleeping in the tent on my farm lol

I’m having the same issue! I never see the sleeping bag, only the tent and umbrella. I check every day they’re open too! I just wanna be able to sleep in the tea house I built is that so much to ask 😭

SO I finally was able to get a sleeping bag! I'm in my 2nd month now tho so maybe it only rotates in during the summer??

I also was finally able to get the sleeping bag during my second month! I hope there is a guide eventually that shows which items will be available in rotation during which months. I’m just excited to be able to sleep in my tea house finally lol!

They'll be pretty obvious when you find one since a blue glowing blueprint will be present

It must be random per save. I had the tent all spring but halfway through summer the sleeping bag finally showed up. What month are you on? If you’re still in spring maybe it’ll change in summer?
