#Combat ‘E’ not working

Whenever I enter combat, my ‘E’ button does not work; outside of combat it works fine.
For this I switched between M/KB and controller, as the X there works. But even with controller fully unplugged, the E button does not work and I basically cannot engage combat, unless a controller is near me. Quite annoying. 🥺

My wife has this as well with her controller. Entered a battle, selected a card to use and then it wouldn’t let her advance past the need to press “A” on the selected Zant. Had to guard. Sparky took Sparky’s turn, but then afterward wouldn’t fight again. Was stuck in the fight (it was the first cutscene fight) until I went into the glossary mid fight, opened my backpack somehow, and the fight ended. Now battled do not work anywhere with her pressing “A” so she just runs. She’s more than okay with this cause she doesn’t like fighting but just noting all my steps to help the devs.

We are looking into the losing interaction problem. some people have mentioned opening and closing the pause menu to thelp, or opening and closing the phone. hope that works for you till its patched katluv

I fixed this by using an alternate input method. If controller isn’t working, do a battle round with keyboard and the player will attack and use E, then the controller works for the rest of the gameplay. Not sure why but it’s the workaround!

This just happened to me during the first 'boss' fight, now I'm stuck either resetting the ENTIRE day or letting them kill me. 😢 Esc doesn't open in combat mode either.

Added after losing, I couldn't hit E on my tent or open doors. I fast traveled (hung out) then after was able to at least hit E on the tent again. Going to try closing and reopening the game.

Update: restarting the program hasn't fixed it either, think I'm just gonna stay away from the caves til patch XD

I noticed that sometimes this happens when my character is pulled into combat mid-jump or mid-climb. I assume certain controls are disabled while not 'grounded' or something, and since the jump/climb doesn't complete, the controls aren't reset.

Jumping or climbing without interruption after the fight might fix it for you!

The only fix I’ve found is switching between two input methods, then they both work. Maybe it’s related to full screen/windowed/borderless too. Could be worth a shot

I still havent found a workaround, so I’ve just been switching between controller and m/kb. Its alright tho, its not game breaking. Just hope it will get fixed at some point. Wont stop be from living my best farmers life. 🙌🏼

This. I just keep a controller at my side and have to reach over to hit "X" to select my combat target every time. It works for now.

I'm also having this issue and have tried all the workarounds (I don't have a controller). Nothing is working for me. Hoping they patch this soon.

We implemented a back up fix for this, you should be able to use the space bar instead of E. Give that a shot and let us know if it's still not working katluv

Oh! I did what @tepid remnant mentioned earlier about clicking the reset binds and it fixed it for me! Thank you for that! I just failed to come back and report it
