Yeah I just did a data import on all crops/stages/prices/etc and did a detailed analysis on which crops I wanted to bother with. There's definitely a trade off in convenience and price for crops

I just had this issue and was looking to see if anyone else did, then found a temporary solution. If I destroy the bed and place a new one, then it correctly registers as sheltered

I guess they just don't like being moved

I've got two questions about ofuda- aside from the obvious, is there a difference between the 5, 7, and 9 pack of ofuda? It's all the same price, so is there any reason I'd get a 5 pack over 9?

was changed in a patch to default to not let you destroy/move buildings accidentally, so you have to select that now

It seems to be bugged for a lot of people and they should be fixing it soon, but I haven't had too many issues. Just leave room around the food and water and they should be able to access it, eventually. Sometimes if I see one is hungry or thirsty, I just pick them up or sometimes they seem obviously stuck and I pet them to interrupt whatever they were trying to do that got them stuck

Most of my animals aren't hungry/thirsty, but half are unhappy right now cause my farm is under renovation lmao. I keep moving their beds and all around

Where are your feeders placed? Most of the time they work fine if they have plenty of space around them. Sometimes they don’t work as well when placed against a wall or something. They will be making adjustments to the animal ai to make it better as well 🙂

You can choose the hot springs location with a few NPCs, and can be invited there by NPCs. I've gone there with Kat once in my game.

There are some locations that are special places for some NPCs, and can't just be selected willy nilly for just any NPC you want, IIRC.

Also, Master Ishikawa, the blacksmith, will buy them, though they don't sell for much. Phillip (the carpenter) night too.

So if you're ever real low on money and just wanna be lazy, carry as many stick stacks as you can. Or if you just have a bunch in your inventory and are nearby a store. Lol

at the shops where you unlock recipes and blueprints, there is a small button where you can click to show recipes that you don't have the skill or lvl to get yet, that way you can check what level or skill you'd need to be able to get the blueprint/recipe

cooking is reltively easy to understand as it's pretty realistic.
usually you have a cooking station which is for example the oven, the stove, the cutting board.
then you need a tool. the rice cooker is the only thing that doesn't need a tool, but the oven for example uses baking trays you can buy/produce at the smithy
the stove needs pans or pots or a steamer and the cutting board needs a bowl or a knife and even the grill needs a spatula
each cooking tool has a number of slots where you can put food into. once you've dragged your ingredients in those slots, and a recipe name appears, you press the play button and then you need to switch on your station (which is redundant if you ask me but... yeah keep suggesting). for example the stove needs to have the plate you're cooking on turned on, the oven needs to be turned on and even the cutting board needs that you press the button at the corner.
and then you just wait patiently until the timer stops and you're good

sadly "easy to understand" doesn't mean easy to use >.<

So, I've got two chickens and one feeder and one waterer thing. It can be really hit and miss if they eat and drink. I thought maybe I needed to buy one thing per animal but sometimes they'll both eat, but only one will drink or the other way around, and I think I had one day (out of two weeks) where they were both fed and watered. Am I missing something? The feeder doesn't have anything blocking it and I've tried moving them around.

Once you make it far enough in the caves... Through Caves Level 2, I believe. ||The elevator takes you to that area with the wasabi, etc. There's a cave up there that isn't accessible. And it looks like there's also the same cave exit at the bottom that connects closer to the Field Lab. Is it supposed to work? Or is it just not ready yet? Looks like it's supposed to connect & allow you faster access back to the wasabi fields. they aren't on rotation, it's bugged. the 'all' category won't show every recipe after a certain point in the skill trees and you have to find the ones you're missing from the individual tabs. you'll also see some recipes that will say you need to be "level 5" to buy, but if you buy something else, suddenly those recipes become unlocked

In Sunnyseed you can only see the info for the seeds available. Considering that not all seeds growing in that season are sold in that season, you might not be growing something that you could be growing had you purchased the seed in the corresponding season to plant in the future. For example I got a seed for an Autumn plant in Summer from a featured item in Sunny Seed and had it not been for Plant Daddy it would have withered immediately. So they both have their uses 😊 You'll appreciate Plant Daddy more as you get farther into the game 😊

i think the problem is that >7 days would be weeks, which is too much to shot... it'll not reduce the time it'll actually take that long i had that with the drying rack

also i think it might be intended because sake mirin and rice vinegar actually have similar ingredients, i'm not an expert but i think vinegar is the same as sake but the fermentation goes longer, so the alcohol gets splitted into acid. and for mirin it'll probably be the same it's all rice base and all uses koji for fermentation.

ah okay, so you need to open one of those doors... yeah they require various gemstones, you get them also by fighting, but if you make a screenshot we can help you, the doors have colors, the color is associated to the gem. (sometimes at least) so people can maybe help by seeing that.

So placing stones in the slot correlate to gemstones. And there are many different kinds of gemstones, some rarer than others. So it's good to take all your different colored gemstones that you do have, and try them in the slot. The colors for these doors and caches can be difficult to discern sometimes.

Process of elimination by trying each different colored stone is usually how I go about it, if I can't tell what the stone is supposed to be. I find often that usually gets me through the door eventually. If it is a stone that I don't have in my inventory, then I go around and mine if there are still mineable rocks to see if I'll get a new gym to try in a slot. Sometimes it's just that you haven't gotten a gem yet. Usually whatever gem is required for a door should be able to be gotten within that level at some point. So if you try every different color gem that you own in the slot and it still doesn't work I would say try to mine some more to see if you get a new gem drop and try that in the slot.

(There's a mod that lets you put gems in any bag, by the by, so you can actually bring one of every single gem that you have and try them all.)

some plants have a second harvest stage. so when they're harvestable, some of them can be left alone and reach another one. for exmple carots. instead of getting carrots, when you wait you get carrot seeds. it's especially popular with tea, if you harvest early it's green tea, if you harvest later it's normal tea

I recently unlocked the packaging machine and set it up. Then I wanted to package seeds and saw that I needed cardboard for that. No problem, it makes sense, it's not expensive - all good. So I went to Sako and clicked 99 times until I had a hundred. Then I left the shop because you can't buy the same things multiple times at once, went back into the shop and clicked 99 times again until I had two hundred boxes.
And I don't think that's the way you actually have to do it, so my question is: is there an easier/more efficient way to get (a lot of) cardboard?

I think the easiest way would be for them to do it through the story. As soon as you set up the packaging machine, you get a message from Hiro telling you that he has set up an online service for Sako where you can now order a few things from her range. Then he sends you the app, and there you can order things that you buy for food crafting in bulk, put them in your shopping cart, and then have them shipped the next day, or pick them up there the same day.
That would also fit with Hiro's story that he wants to modernize Sunnyside.

Given that many cooking recipes aren't worth anything at the market, I think that may have to do with it. Furthermore, batch cooking only should work in specific things like prep work.

it's mainly to save you time, because one moment if you let it overcook, it's dead, but if you do it all straight away and wait for the right moment, I mean a fish = 30 minutes if you cook 12 it comes back to 6 hours and you don't have to wait like an idiot when you've got other things to do.

You can't really batch cook in an oven without attending to the oven. As for woodworker/smithy/mechanic, I personally would appreciate it being process time-based rather than always same day, but that seems to be also done as a matter of convenience for players. The woodworker always deposits your order the next day because it's convenient, particularly concerning new players in the early game, where it takes a long time to travel there.

I think generally the game wants you to do things slowly, but it does seem to offer conveniences irregularly at times.

If you want to cook more fish at a time, you have to have more skillets/pans, that's just common sense. Maybe prep work can be done in batches, but cooking is different.

The game's loading screen is literally different versions of "no rush..." "take it slow...", I think that's a gentle hint, no?

So it's not because the game says I have to do it, I mean at some point you have to give people the freedom to do what they want and why time is precious, if you want to take your time, do it, but there are people where time is like formula 1 because there are other things in real life, and when I want to play, I also want to optimise my own time and when I know I've got 20 fish to cook, waiting like a glandu in front of a poel is not my style.

After all, I don't think it's a game for the unemployed. 😉

And when I was, time was definitely premium, working 3 jobs while being a single parent without much community or resources. However, I did understand that leisurely pursuits had to be chosen carefully.

This game is meant to be played slow, though you can sequence break and rush various things. It's not meant to be that way, but you can play that way. However, taking your time, that is a very purposeful and integral design choice.

I do agree that cooking could use QoL for so many things. Quantities, batch cooking, recipe auto-placement and so on.

But Sunnyside isn't being designed for that kind of gameplay. There's nothing wrong with the playing the game like that, but it's opposite to what the essence of the game is. There will probably eventually be mods to foster that for you, cause time is precious.

i'm completely with you. i think they should really put a lot of effort into optimizing the cooking system, batch cooking is one of them, but there's a lot more, the simple thing that you need to drag cooking ingredients one by one into their slots, and select a specific stack size is SO frustrating.

there's a different between slow/casual and annoying. and the cooking process is currently definitely behind door 2. even if there are people that enjoy it doing it slow and one by one, that's fine. i'm not telling to remove the slow way. i'm just saying add a fast way for those with less patience.

it's also not very relaxing to cook at the moment. there's a lot frustration in cooking right now. like the sliders being either too sensitive or too sturdy, that you never select the right batch size.

Don’t forget to use the aim button too just incase you forgot about that 🙂 sometimes I’ve built some kind of scaffolding to reach higher areas. You can put down a few crates or something and stand on top of it to reach some higher stuff lol

Each type of bird has its own type of coup. So when it comes to housing them, you usually will get told in the description of the building how much they hold. So no stress about needing to mix and match birds to one building. Animal sizes medium and big require sleeping spots. And everything else birds and rabbits have their own buildings.

you can also put the display shelf on a flat surface first (you'll also want to use the non-wall version), then add the plushie and then move the shelf into the position that you want. this is normally how I do it so I can rotate the display shelf (those avo ones 🥑 get turned to become pears. 🍐 ).

so for this one i've figured out that it's the number of separate times you adopt/purchase animals. so if you get 10 in one go it only counts as 1. if you get one, get out of the buy menu, then enter back and get another one, then thats the best way to get this achievement (worked for me)

Definitely.
I know that for example I have tested cucumbers, and they (last I checked) cannot be planted directly from harvest for more plants like (another example) potatoes can.

There are a couple items you can buy at the shrine. In addition to card packs, you can get Omikuji and Omomori. Earth 1 or Sparky 1 are Omomori

theres an option on the right side of the screen in build mode that lets you select/move/delete buildings

Yes, it lets me do that with all my animal shelters and machines but it won’t let me on my barn or house
