my theory
ominent are good guys now led by scientist lady who rescued us in first game, we are recruited to help after the explosion or maybe before, main goal is to rescue wendle again but this time we need to repair burgle whose head is gone, along the way we come across 5th teen whose angry no one ever rescued him and wants to take revenge on ominent and now us as we are working with them but his also not the main villian, schmectar is back too escaped from jail or uploaded his mind to the humungus, we have to convince 5th teen to join us while battling schectar to rescue wendle once again, why us? we experienced the raising already and so are mostly immune to any issues with shrinking, thats why we get given new power wrists supplied by ominant to help us and teh new omni tool

Given the fact that we are shrunk not by our own will and that the tutorial is Ominent employee training type: yeah prob that girl we see the portrait of in the trailer is our new director and the same girl that was kind to us. I would guess teens didnt have Ominent gloves before shrinking (why would they) so its either: new Director girl who is behind the explosion and she is our enemy and now she is experimenting on us(and later whoever painted those grafittis will be our ally. I wouldnt say shemcotr is in there maybe its his daughter or smth?) but she was kind to us right so thats would be stupid. Or, its a mysterious enemy we dont know about yet (THE WATCHER...), probably not an accident. So this girl, uhh, was allowed to enter "the crime scene" and she gave us an ominent gloves and the tool? It doesnt make sense why wouldnt she just unshrink us by that matter so i dont think she even had an influence on us. Someone (yes the watcher again) was the one spying on us in G1 whoever know how, and he has a team that actually built all of the labs in the park (idk why specifically there tho), and they gave us the gloves to spy on us even more, gave the tool to get more resources for them to analyze and see what we are capable of. (yet i dont know why are they even need us). The burgl is clearly dead, the wendells missing, so our first lab must give us a mission and a direction, maybe some message from the watcher. These labs are abandoned as we can see a skeleton in there, we must power everything up again, find out who shrunk us, hopefully deal with them and rescue burgl and wendell. I have no idea who the fck painted those graffitis :3, and i doubt we ll see a fifth teen return. Thats like the MOST BASIC plot that doesnt conradict everything

My theory is that we’ll end up finding BURG.L’s head somewhere in the park, and he’ll play a role in the story.

Because if you notice, we see his body tipped over, and his head is clearly missing, so that definitely means his head is somewhere.

But we’ll only find out once Grounded 2 releases.

My theory of grounded 2 is an employee of ominent is trying not get rid of all of ominents mistakes including the teens hence why it says “nothing to see here” on the white bored

I don’t think the new owner of ominent is evil but there evil people still in the company

Grounded 2 might be about getting rid of the rest of the criminals in ominent and finding more of there evil past of ominent

Some nice things to keep in mind and a refresher on the story of G1:
-The labs are not actual shrunken labs (if you forgot, cuz i did), its "Kinderscience Miniquik Little Chemist Lab" modules educational toys made by Wendell for children, Ominent was manufacturing and "using them".
-The first act of spying (can be even earlier) from Ominent is probably Sep 20, 89 when the surveyor scanner of Wendells catched strange radiosignal and then he confirmed it wasnt neigbours net and it can only be Ominent. The earliest Recon journal is dated Sep 27, 89. Wendell noticed security breaching on Feb 24, 89 and hid all the major info on the chips on Mar 17, 89. The latest recon journal dates Mar 20, 90 with of them 4 dated in the span of 9 days being Dec 21-30th, 8 journals total and 6 snapshots.
-The Ominent crew that was sent in Tullys yard was obviously spying on him, but also putting ORC recievers on bugs. They all werent volunteering for it. At least one has experienced the Raising effect and supposedly died from it. One of them called "Scapers Amalgamated" which supposedly were going to fix the sprinklers by the picnic table (wendell thought trudy called them) but worked in the other area of the yard as well.
-The Wendell was able to shrink and grow big again on an almost daily basis
-The Wendell is behind the recipes for Broodmother and Mantis, Wasp Queen one is from Director Shmector, as he wanted to put ORC reciever on the Wasp Queen (which is how one of the workers died), IBM one is just a scrappy note.
-Known names of colleagues are: Dr. Klein, Kaminski and some names of the ominent spying crew
-A box of SCA.Bs were shrunk and failed to be unshrunk during the test, the bees stole the scabs, which why we see them all over the yard.
-Tully has a Ph.D
-Wendell developed the NG+ machine in hopes of plucking the skins of alternate dimensions Wendell to replace it
-Grilled science is a result of MIX.Rs work, and we have those in G2.

-SCA.B user manual contains a lot of "oddly specific information about yard survival" and its made my Ominent
-The back of the Assistants Manager (or ARC.R MK II) card, which is made in Ominent style, says "Improper use of this card is punishable by fine, imprisonment or both."

New theory where our new antagonist stole BURG.L's head to upload the info in his "mind" somewhere else since only Burg.l uses the chips Tully made, what was so important in those chips? The Embiggining Cocktail.

Now what is one of Ominent's evil scheme's on the ominent data disk? That's right! The Humungus!!!!!

I feel like B. Stava might be in grounded 2 they are important to ground 1 they have a lot of ominent notes written by them and they never have a skeleton

Maybe she thought she was about to die but she clearly lives on past that point

Sum corrections/notes: this entire note is basically nothing besides her talking to a person in the future, hark isn’t a name it means to listen, Exalted means extreme happiness, there is a chance it is her skeleton but why would she still have a day one note unless it was just some random person who died there reading it, it could be her because the badge gives the player hauling strength

I’ll admit that is her skeleton she talks about being forced to cary things so that heavily implies it’s her badge and her body the day 1 year 0 is probably an mistake unless there are multiple of her but I found the reference to a combined image of her and the ants

I have a crack pot theory that would fix that do I think it makes sense no but I’m going to say it for the 1% chance I’m right maybe she killed someone and put the bag on them or she broke space time by carrying too much grass

Honestly I don’t think we’re going to have that many repeat characters in grounded 2 because almost everyone is dead besides the 5th teen but he has probably been very forgotten about that he might just be a reference and have nothing to do with the story

My current theory
Who shrunk us an ominent employee trying to get rid of all the horrible stuff ominent has done and we’re going to be robbing all the ominent labs in the park probably with the help of windell who is probably being held in the burgl statute we’re probably going to have to revive burgl and shrink him down and the mysterious ominent employee is going to have all communications outside of the park blocked so we can’t call for help

Also we’re going to have a huge lore extravaganza on ominent in this story

@tired jasper I think the kids have been helping Dr. Tully as his assistants (btw you could give the teens a title like Assist-ANTs). Anyway the teens have been helping him and have been shrunk and regrown multiple times over the last 2 years. The explosion happens, dr. tully is missing and the teens are forced to work with ominent this time to save the day

My theory sort of: it would be SO cool if we got a group or single antagonist that were also shrunk down. They could be bullies of our Teens in their real life and immediately thrive in this violent world. They could have bases that when we raid them move to a more dangerous part of the park, having a direct mirror to our own progression. They wouldn’t be actively running around the park, but we would periodically be raided by them(orc controlled waves), find evidence of their activity, and even maybe find traps they’ve laid for us it’s just so perfect to me!
