Sky Islands: Shattered Grounds (2025)

Map Info: Start your journey through the sky world that's filled with mysterious floating islands. You'll first start off at an abandoned encampment. That'll be the starting island where everything begins at!

Map Goals: The goal is to have many floating islands that are filled with resources, insects/creatures, and lore. There will be the main islands but also smaller side islands (each one will serve its purpose whether its resource heavy or filled with insects) There will also be bigger islands that might contain a dungeon of sorts

Map Progress State: Currently there are 10 main islands done and a dungeon island that is half way finished. A code will be available once more content is added, possibly a play test code for ones interested

Feel like that would be complicated tbh. For the 2 you're talking about, "SK YARDS" doesn't really look like my map. The skyblock map is unique to its own. I feel like even tho its in the same "category" ig you can call it (sky themed) each map will be unique in its own way

Going to be focusing on touching up the existing 11 islands I've currently built. Most of the 11 already have stuff built on them expect for one. I'll be touching up on each island adding a little more depth and progression to them.

Caves! Some islands will have small caves for you to explore. There will be more larger caves on bigger islands! (if they contain one) This is the first current cave I'm in the process of building.. so far not too bad!

Ignore the floating water droplet This isn't the final look but this island is going to serve as a way for you to traverse to different islands a little more easier. You'll still have to build towards most but once you've unlocked this island, you'll have access to that choice.

This one currently does not atm, I'm more focusing on the survival element (Dungeons, etc) but islands do/will have some type of lore even if its small. I have each island named currently when you enter them it'll pop up a little message

I have like 30 islands rn, but it’s going to end up being about 35 at the end with each of the island having a lot of attention to detail

This island is probably going to take some time but its going to be the first dungeon island. Theres going to be stuff to fight/collect outside of the dungeon but once you've gain access to the dungeon entrance, its all up to you to explore! I already have a "Mini Dungeon" island built and theres definitely going to be more!

Going to be using up any free time i get to put extra work in and get lots of progress done. I want to at least spend a couple solid hours every day adding stuff here n there to speed things up 🫡

Small To-Do List

• Finish second "Mini-Dungeon" island (will include Ladybugs and other surprises to get T2 and advance more in your journey)
• Finish a few existing islands in the "Layer 1" Zone
• Finish the first "Main Dungeon" (gonna figure a name out eventually for these types) these dungeons will be very high risk high reward
• Finish off a few of the "Shattered" islands (still thinking of a name for these but something along the lines of that works for now) these islands are smaller islands that look different from the "Main" ones

Cooking up some islands that'll introduce underwater areas 🫧 (gonna use whatever water sections i have available on the "small" playground map)

The first island that introduces the water section is pretty much 90% done but only going to show a teaser 👀 Want to leave it for a surprise!

By the end of the week i should have a total of 12 islands fully done plus 2-5 shattered islands done (ones already built) Depending on the speed I'm doing things at i should be able to complete even more islands by Sunday.

I'm thinking about breaking them down in layers so this one would be considered the first layer then theres the first main dungeon that's a bit high up so I'm planning on making that the second layer. That's what i got mapped out in my head

By tomorrow i should have 20 (or more depending how I'm feeling) sky islands done. At least 8+ "Shattered" islands done. Then the main focus after that will be working on the main dungeon gonna be a no brainer to make the main dungeons for the 7 bosses

• Quests (For the image with the skeleton the left is before and the right is after. Just one example of many quests to come)

• Rumors (Whispered tales that might lead you to discover new things)
• Mini-Dungeons (contains resources, insects to craft better gear. Some might contain small puzzles of sorts that'll unlock some type of reward or danger..)

I think if I add too many islands it loses the whole feeling of skyblock, it turns into regular grounded with some holes in the ground you can fall into

Well even tho i have 20 atm every island looks good so far. Then throw in quests, lore on these islands. I only got 3 Mini dungeon islands but the 2nd one i made looks so good i can't believe i made that 😭 The mini dungeon islands themselves also have some cool little quirks/puzzles once you explore them. The shattered islands are nice because i can throw in more resource/quests onto them. 3 of them are going to be connected to something i can't say yet but i've been cooking trust 🙌

Thats good tho i like the skyblock feel. I just named mine "Sky Islands" because i knew i was going to add a lot with the RPG aspects Quests, Lore, Dungeons, etc

I laid out the islands where i want them and there is going to be a new total of 40 islands! (with 22 already built) If no suggestions pop up here, I'll be continuing building them either way

Back on the map grind, been off n on with the progress the past week. Originally i was going to make everyone spawn on the same island but i think instead I'm going to add a spawn point for each character on these 4 islands. I'm working on it now but I'm going to connect each island with these tree trunks and make them look good

This week i should be able to get a good amount of work done on the islands. Already been working on some and the next "Mini-Dungeon" island (With all the templates of the islands should be around 40 islands done and much more to come ;))

Progress still continues just wanted to post this little picture of this recent island i built. (the ancient tree snail 🐌 😂 ) below are some goals i want to get done before i post a "Demo Version" of the map.

• Get spawn island 100% done (its around 78%)
• Get a total of 60 (or more) islands built (includes shattered islands, dungeons, etc)
• Finish of the remaining 4 Dungeon islands (add at least another 6-8 more)
• Adding more Quests/Lore (already have some done)
• Finishing off the water sections

Spawn island is getting closer to being finished! I'm debating whether to count the entire spawn island as 1 island or 4 since theres 4 different ones being connected by the tree branches. Shattered islands will be surrounding the spawn as well so you can have the choice to explore them before setting your adventure

Going to be spending the rest of the night finishing off these (Mini) Dungeon islands. Lady bug dungeon island is pretty much done so need to focus more on these ones plus new ones. Revamping the Orb Weaver island a bit more, gonna be sick hopefully 🙌

Spawn island is pretty much done, just working on the small gadget detailing and some patch up work! Knowing me i'll just end up going back to this island and adding more so it may or may not change from what is seen below.

Most likely this map won't be finished by the end of this year but going to try my best to make a code available sometime this month.

(Btw the video above isn't fully finished, just showing off what different islands can have like for example in the video breaking the acorn exposes a hole that can be entered and will be teleported somewhere.. 👀)

Going to be working on this map all week (pretty much got all day free to get more progress done) pushing close to 50 islands 🙏 Working on surrounding the spawn island with more sky islands/shattered islands to make the area feel more clustered with sky islands. Looking awesome so far seeing all the floating islands in the sky ☁️

I think today is gonna be that day where i remove all the grass in the backyard 😭 .. already got a good bit out already. I got a good idea what I'm going to do with the ground for this map but for the most part its going to be empty.

I'm thinking about dropping a "Prologue" it'll just include a map code with whatever progress i have done on the map currently. (mainly the spawn and the surrounding islands are fully completed but the rest is still explorable but may feel uncompleted in some parts) I'll probably have the code up for a week then replace it/delete it. The prologue mainly just going to be a demo/test version for the map so you can try it out

Just messing around with some effects in the "void" Would be cool but at the same time could be hard on performance so i doubt I'll do it but still something neat to consider. Been working on some bigger islands. I figure since the "center" of the islands are much smaller compared to the ones I'm now making, so the more you go away from the spawn/center the bigger the islands will get (Still can be smaller islands around bigger ones and vice versa just not in much quantity comparing to the furthest outer area of the map.

Its coming along, the big islands are gonna be fun to tackle since i have lots of room to work with but even the smaller islands are very detailed and love them very much. Keep in mind I'm the only one working on this map 🙏
