Just played your map @quick laurel if you happen to die on the first two beatles and respond went back into the beatle room and got locked in with no enemies to fight and couldn't get out.

There should be a trigger in the upstairs hallway to despawn them, a switch to unlock the door, and then reactivating the lever should re-lock the door and respawn them

Ok I got rid of the door locking mechanic in that dungeon along with some of the others because of finicky respawning. I don't think the beetles should bug out anymore, nor should you get locked in with no way out.

Also found out the checkpoint in the foyer of the first dungeon was set to active so there was a chance of spawning there before the main hub so i fixed that too

A new version is now out which should have fixed a lot of things that could hardlock you from progressing if you die/respawn! Also changed up some of the dungeons and boss fights to avoid mobs not spawning correctly. So far all of the triggers for checkpoints seem to be working. Also, Chapter 2 Act III is now available :^)

-Changed up boss fight and layout of some of the islands in Chapter 2 Act III
-Also changed the first puzzle in Chapter 2 Act III as it wasn't triggering consistently
-In Chapter 2 Act I after the rooftop fight, if the door doesn't open, check the room below for the missing spawn. If it flew away to Narnia, just go back to the hub and continue since you have the hammer now, you'll just miss out on the boss fight and rewards :^(
-Various little edits to all the dungeons to stop hardlocking progression
-Changed the layout of the garden in Chapter 2 Act II to stop you from walking all funky

i made it to act 3 and to said lever puzzle, and i think i have to flip all the levers to the direction the mannequen is pointing, (maybe thats not the answer im not sure :1) but the levers keep flipping back when i activate another one

Thank you!! It starts to ramp up a bit after chapter 1 so hopefully it doesn’t get too hard or infuriating LOL. The first three dungeons were kinda like “ok how do these things work” and then I started to thrust my entire soul into the chapters

Last night I updated it AT LEAST 5 times, so depending on when you downloaded it, you might get stuck at chapter 2, act 3, or you might be able to get all the way to the latest chapter

New version is now available! :^) Made a whole bunch of changes over the last couple of days:

-Chapter III Act II: Do Unto Us is now available
-Changed Chapter II Act I so the door on the roof opens properly, no more rooftop fight though :^(
-Changed the puzzle in Chapter II Act III on the Three Little Pigs island so no more mobs falling through the floor, just a switch puzzle
-Got rid of the mint staff in Chapter II Act II as it was way too strong to have that early
-Chapter I Act I boss changed to be slightly easier
-Chapter II Act II has a new boss
-Locked the reward chest in Chapter II Act I
-Changed out the fan hallway in Chapter III Act I, it was too finnicky and wouldn't work consistently
-Chapter I Act II entry should no longer lock you out

The newest addition: Chapter III Act II: Do Unto Us is based on Morytania from Runescape! Specifically Meiyerditch, Darkmeyer, and Castle Drakan! Please let me know if there's anything that doesn't work!

I'm on act 1 on the final level, I can't find the 5th lever on the 3rd floor of the tower, I found the one next to the bee, the one on the chair, the one next to the vases, and the one on the trash can, where is the last one if anyone knows

This has been my favourite map so far, such a great little story line!

The only part i wasn't too keen on was the lever puzzle in Act 3....everything else so far 👌🏼

hell yeah! that entire act is full of references to popular fairy tales. it was one of my favorite ones to make but also one of the most infuriating because almost none of the spawns would work properly, so i had to sacrifice a lot of fights for just find the button puzzles. almost every time i do a test playthrough, something in that act breaks

It's top quality honestly, so creative. The bug AI and spawners are a bit janky sadly, main reason i don't make bug based maps.

Well, if people play The Legend of Pete enough, and enough people like it, I might consider it. If I ever did , say, The Legend of Willow, I would wait for certain bugs to be fixed like the doors disappearing when you switch between modes. As of right now, I just have sooo many rooms that every single time I switch modes, I have to fly to every single dungeon, and check every single door. Then, if any disappeared I have to remember what it was linked to, redo the puzzle, and test it again. It's quite exhausting to do that every time, so I only test dungeons on actual playthroughs so I can avoid switching modes and risking the doors. Which means I'm making whole dungeons just hoping I linked everything correctly, which is why with every ver. update, something is broken or inoperable.

TLDR; Maybe if people want it, but only if certain bugs get fixed.

Thank you!!! And actually, I have had a Grounded version of "We Were Here" in my mind, so if I finish Pete's story before said bugs get fixed, that might actually be what come next. Or it might evolve into another "Legend of" game.

there's a also a bug when switching modes that will take your roofs and walls and just rotate ALL of them so theyre all facing the same way

The game work as it should when playing solo

I have people say when they are player 2,3,or4 they don't have the same experience as player one

Player one would see all the dialogue functioning correctly. Player 2 would see the dialogue overlapping each other and not exiting the screen for the entire play through. While players 3 or 4 wouldn't even see any dialogue pop-up at all.

#

I say to have the people you plan on playing with. Download the map directly before joining you I've had a couple of people say. Once they downloaded the map it functioned correctly for them I have had others Say even with the map download it it still doesn't function In multi player

-Chapter III Act III: A Sickening Duality is now available
-Fixed miniboss despawning in Chapter I Act III if you died
-Removed lights at the entrance of Chapter II Act I so you can no longer skip the first half of the dungeon
-Moved boss of Chapter III Act II into the basement so that they spawn consistently
-Added healing hearts to Pete's house to save on healing items
-Fixed the door in Chapter III Act I that would always be open, allowing you to skip the puzzle
-Unlocked door to the golden molar in Chapter III Act I so you can actually get it now
-Fixed the title of Chapter III Act II on the telepotty
-Lots of other stuff for smoother progression

This marks the end of Chapter III. Here's what's coming up next:

-An "extra chapter" to help with getting certain mutations
-The Final Chapter, Acts ?-???
-Another revamp of the main hub to make it look a little less chaotic and certain systems will be locked behind story progression

What's new:
-Chapter 3.5: The Training Arc is now available
-Fight stronger/more challenging versions of the bosses to earn extra upgrade materials and perhaps even a special weapon to help with the final boss.
-The Final Chapter: Blooming Denouement: Fragrant Waltz in the Garden of Death is now available
-Pete's story is coming to end, will he be able to out-perform The Executioner?
-Pete's house has a new addition! Unfortunately the construction workers left some rubble in the way...

Changes:
-Renovated Pete's house and yard, moved around molars, telepotties, and terminals
-"Fixed" some puzzles in Chapter III Act III, they still don't behave properly but should be do-able
-Molar and equipment upgrades are now locked behind story progression

Pete's story is now complete. Any future updates will be to fix puzzles, spawns, etc. Please let me know of any issues you encounter while playing, and I hope you enjoy my playground! :^) Also, if you want, let me know how long it took you to complete it and if you found ALL 12 Twinkling Shells! There is one in each area. My speed run testing record is about 2 hours, so good luck!

I also noticed a ceiling piece may be needed above the middle door....you can get out of the map and potentially get stuck if you haven't saved recently.

Just a little suggestion, if it doesn't mess with the triggers. Chapter 2, Act 1....are you able to add a switch or volume at the end of the level to unlock the first set of gates.

Went back in to that level looking for the secret, but couldn't open the main gates as the Web Sacs have already been destroyed.

a few small updates to mess around with the new stuff:

-redecorated the garden in Chapter II Act II, no more giant flowers in the pots
-added sizzle to Chapter I Act II
-you can no longer mess with the lights in Chapter I Act I and Chapter II Act II
-if you try to jump off any of the islands in Chapter II Act III, you will die

Ermmm, I just loaded up good ol The Legend of Pete 1 and none of the terminals that activate the telepotties are spawning in. Is anyone else having this issue? 👀
