#Background not layering over the top of a text that has been subtracted

Hi @winter stag it doesnt seem to that you have substracted it. If you had then the layers would look like this
What steps did you do whhen you thought you were substracting them?
no the rectangle has nothing to do with the text being substracted
it just wont go over it
what do you mean by "go over it"?
u know how things layer over each other?
like being on top of each other?
or you want the red rectangle be a "part of" the text?
no i want it ontop of the text

Have you tried unlocking Home, and right clicking the rectangle and telling it to go on front?

if that doesnt work, could you share an editable link to the file?
did you do anything to the rectangle?
When i look at the rectangle you made it says it is a path
but anyway when i make a new rectangle it seems to work file
i dont think so but im still new to this so i prob did
not sure why the one you made is not working
