I'm trying to make a scrolling train in figma, the train component work almost fine as I needed but when I add the instance of it to the frame and run the prototype its not working properly

Hey @long roost Could you show a bit of it so I know what you are trying to do?

long roost
#

it'd be much easy to explain...

atomic scaffold
#

to review it

you can just copy the link from the share thing

#

by clicking "copy link" on the top

#

make sure it says "anyone with the link can edit"

long roost
#

ok

might be because of the only those invited part

#

you can also just paste the relevant part in a new document (if they dont use pro features)

@atomic scaffold I have uploaded the video of the issue I'm facing

atomic scaffold
#

it doesnt show up scrolling fully because its scrolling within the frame you have put in whhich is taller

#

so the bottom will always be cut off

atomic scaffold
#

should work now

#

As I said, you need to put fill height on the instance

#

also for the button to stay there, have bottom contrain instead of top

#
  • fixed positioning when scrolling
#

btw for the button i wouldnt use a rectangle but a frame

#

(in general dont use rectangles for ui design)

#

but in general rectangle is a vector which is better for illustration purposes

atomic scaffold
#

so you probably dont want that

#

because when doing fill height, you make the overall thing shorter

#

so things are scaling down

long roost
#

so how do I fix em?

#

select the svg and scale them?

atomic scaffold
#

no, i said you dont want scale on them

#

probably just top and left

long roost
#

got it, lemme fix em up

#

hey, I want to know smt more like a tip. How to trace out an object perfectly?? using pen tool

#

I'm having a huge trouble in tracing out an object only to end up with sharp edges

#

ex. look at that train's trip and bottom curve. I made it

#

its not smooth

atomic scaffold
#

you can eg start from a rectangle and have 100% radius

#

and then modify from there if needed

#

how would you want it to look like?

long roost
#

smooth

#

not even close to smooth

atomic scaffold
#

did you start from a rectangle?

#

also another optiion to use like tracingg plugins

#

they are not always perfect though

#

starting from a rectangle

#

its a bit closer

#

not fully, but you can see it can go from there

#

and you just need to adjust things
