Hi how would I add a background grid like below? (NOTE: This grid in the image is for like the actual design, not for placement purposes.)

To answer your question though, you just literally need to make that grid yourself, probably using lines / rectangles

and you might want to add some gradient color on them to make them fade out in the end

you can easily check from inspecting the page to see if it is an image

if you share the website it is from i can probably tell too from inspecting it

some places might use an image, some places might not.

using an image will make it worse in quality. but even if it was just an image, you can recreta it in figma too

images are just illustrations. and you can make illustrations in figma

i just quickly made this in figma using just gradients

it is probably not the same, but the idea is just making gradients and playing with the settings until it comes out how you want it
