Hello I am new here and I all my life used Illustrator, After Effects, Photoshop etc.

And I am confuse how actually Bring to Front works in Figma.

If someone can link me or explain to me please 🙂

I am confused because I working on tabs components and when I want bring my tab in front (menu/Object/Bring to Front) send my Tab's layer all the way down to down like:

layers in group:

Tabs (its first on top, but then tabs is not in visually in front of body, so body overlay Tabs)
Body

after bring to front
Body
Tabs (tabs is below Body)

lol
I am really confused 😕

Cheers!

Hey @tropic rune ! Could you explain what part of it makes it confusing?

Or what you expect to see instead?

thanks for helping me @bold moss
yeah it's confusing why "bring to front" send my layer on bottom in Figma?

As I said I use all my life Illustrator and form my perspective that means when I choose "bring to front" this object go to top visually (overlay all others ) and also will be on top of all layers inside that group.

Why Figma do opposite? And how change that? lol

PS: I can share with you screencapture if you like

I think the reason behind it is because the default is that "last is on top" in autolayout

if it is really bothering you, you can keep switching it here to first on top
