Hello there, i'm looking everywhere but i can't find no One tutorial or any "Names" of this type of effects..
i'm wondering if Is It possible to make this Text effect using Figma, or, what i Need to use to make It ? ..
I really Need It for my portfolio πŸ’ͺπŸ™

Hey @rotund sonnet! are you trying to have this for a design or you want to have it in your code?

#

I think in design it might be a bit tricky to do, but could be doable. I would probably use scrolling and masking the second text. But not a 100% sure without experimenting a bit first. Someone else might have a better idea on how to achieve this

#

and if you need it for coding, what language are you using?

i'm making my own portfolio and i want to put this " Text Effect " inside my web design..
Is It Better for me to do inside Figma, but if there is any Tutorial, i can also do It with coding but After i Need It to put inside figma

Oh okay, so your portfolio is being made in figma?

rotund sonnet
#

Yeah

umbral fjord
#

It might be a bit inconvenient to do though, because there is no interaction to follow a cursor.

rotund sonnet
#

Yeah could be this, but We can not make interaction to cursor in figma? πŸ€”πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

I would suggest to try to keep your figma portfolio simpler or at least just try to make it simple at first so you could start using it and applying for jobs asap.

You can then start adding easier animations to it. But if you want to have animations that are based on your cursors's movement and stuff I would suggest to try finding a way to have it as an actual website as that could be easier to do

oh nice! you made it in figma?

#

is it with dragging / scrolling?

rotund sonnet
#

i found a way to do It but not with the over text..
Also, if we can't use the follow cursor i don't think i can use It inside the website..
Cause probably i have to "link" the eclipse to the cursor..

Yeah because i want to create a responsive website , but the idea could be to do the simple design of my portfolio on figma and then add the animations and 3D models like for example in Dora?
i'm also looking to understand the Three.js & React Languages, to be able to make more interactivity in my website

#

Like this one for example

#

This is the website in the video

i think it could be possible, maybe "attaching" the eclipse to cursor and put others text above using some codes in React or Three.js and then import back to figma?πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™‚οΈ

#

Because there Is no option in prototype to attach the eclipse in live mode, i can do only while in editing

I think maybe making something like this would be easier if you used some kind of CMS unless if you already have some coding background. Otherwise it might take a long time for you to be able to make this

#

It also depends on how soon you need the portfolio. For example if you need to find a job soon, I would suggest to make something easy so you could use it asap. I would also say that the content is more important than a look. For me a simple webpage that is good content wise is much more valuable than a webpage that is complex with a lot of flashy things but the content is not very good

#

Also too many animations and stuff can actually make it a bit too overwhelming imo

that looks like the same animations that https://cuberto.com/ has, its called "mouse follower" and fun fact, coding it is very much easier, and im sorry they dont give the tutorial of the mouse follower design too, but maybe you would like to check their other design tutorials for your portfolio. they have some amazing tutorials that you can follow

#

^ the design courses that they have are on youtube so they are free πŸ™‚
