The place where I send people when I need deckbuilding help for either me or my partner

#

I am a big fan of burn, and Niv, Visionary seems like a really good pick for a commander. I want to win through guttersnipe effects off of cantrips, with Niv being a cherry on top if the game gets that far. I've never built spellslinger and don't know how many of everything to put in the deck. Hoping for a definitive bracket 3, preferably no gamechangers although I can fold if need be.

ok but hear me out: what if niv mizzet WAS guttersnipe in the command zone, and drew you cards when you slinged your spells

#

also mystic confluence and fiery confluence are really really good cards you should look into, and I see you are on most of the good cantrips, except gitaxian probe because free is hard to beat

#

also if budget isn't a concern, I'd be on arid mesa flooded strand misty rainforest polluted delta scalding tarn and wooded foothills, as well as mystic sanctuary. Having shuffle effects makes cantrips signficantly better, and without access to consistent ones, I would just avoid playing brainstorm like the plague.

#

I'd also add the standard "play these everywhere" counterspells of counterspell, mana drain, swan song, an offer you can't refuse, and because you probably will be on some number of wizards (including your commander), the new card manasculpt is only slightly worse than mana drain, and often is just mana drain if you are on cost reducers. I've also loved flashback if you haven't read that card it's just snapcaster mage (a card I'd consider here anyways) but on a 1 mana instant, it massively overpreforms in my experience

#

speaking of cost reducers, a lot of people sleep on archmage of runes, because it's similar to archmage emeritus but costs one more, but A) having both in play is busted, and B) the cost reduction on something that doesn't die super easy matters, most of the cost reducers people play are tiny dudes that don't block and die to everything.

#

also firestorm is SOOOO good, along with flame rift and boltwave, if you can get your commander out

#

from there, that should get you start at least thinking about what to run, hope it helped and if you have questions or whatever just @ me, I've been playing storm/spell slingery type decks in almost every format since 2011-2012

Rebuilding my Henzie from the ground up and was enlightened by Henziecord to put around 14-16 pre-henzie plays. The goal of the deck is to put utility on field turns 1/2, turn 3 henzie, turn 4 blitz. If anyone has recommendations on fun, 1/2 mana toys for pre-henzie and/or favorite pet cards to blitz, please send them here.
Landbase is entirely filler and removal package is a WIP

Continuing on another stupidly good card is [[Deadpool]] a commanders a problem? Well just shoot it in the foot and take it for yourself

#

He's hilarious, the largest issue is that he's also $20

#

And I'm not opposed to big money for certain cards, but deadpool just, idk

#

Thank you tho

dusky radish
#

true oh your irl play lmao

#

i assume you were playing tts

foggy wedge
#

Nah, tryna build henzie irl

dusky radish
#

also a really important part of Henzie is run as little non creatures as possible so [[Ravenous Chupacabra]] and similar cards are better over say [[feed the swarm]]

proven domeBOT

#

Most expensive card I'm heavily considering is [[pathbreaker ibex]]

proven domeBOT

#

[[$pathbreaker Ibex]]

proven domeBOT
dusky radish
#

thats a really good card in budget Henzie for sure

#

also [[gray merchant of asphodel]]!

proven domeBOT
foggy wedge
#

I have thought about good ol' gary

dusky radish
#

[[Gwenom Remorseless]] is really useful as a mini Bolas Citadel

proven domeBOT
dusky radish
#

[[Primeval Herald]] two lands? Yes please

proven domeBOT
foggy wedge
#

I'm finding these are all cards I've considered or had in the old henzie list lmao

dusky radish
#

henzie plays the same cards over and over lmao

foggy wedge
#

Primeval herald and chupacabra were mvps, gwenom and deadpool were interesting to me but I decided against mainly for price

dusky radish
#

true their is [[Cauldron of Essence]] is a pretty new card

proven domeBOT
foggy wedge
#

I do have a couple copies of that one

#

The henzie community seems to be mixed because it's expensive

foggy wedge
#

Debating [[birthing ritual]] because

  1. little pricey and like to save where I can
  2. seems a little strong, maybe too strong

Enchantment
At the beginning of your end step, if you control a creature, look at the top seven cards of your library. Then you may sacrifice a creature. If you do, you may put a creature card with mana value X or less from among those cards onto the battlefield, where X is 1 plus the sacrificed creature's mana value. Put the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.

It is really good and can often just end games with cards like [[Etali Primal Conqueror]]

proven domeBOT
#

Legendary Creature — Elder Dinosaur
Trample
When Etali enters, each player exiles cards from the top of their library until they exile a nonland card. You may cast any number of spells from among the nonland cards exiled this way without paying their mana costs.
mana9managp: Transform Etali. Activate only as a sorcery.
7/7

Etali, Primal Sickness
Legendary Creature — Phyrexian Elder Dinosaur
Trample, indestructible
Whenever Etali deals combat damage to a player, they get that many poison counters. (A player with ten or more poison counters loses the game.)
The contagion spreads and the Multiverse quakes.

there is the cheaper well semi cheaper [[Mechanised Production]]

proven domeBOT

wrong one

#

[[Industrial Advancement]]

proven domeBOT
dusky radish

there this one is also quite good

cutting dorks is risky for Henzie as he wants to he able to play 2-3 blitz creatures on turn 6-7 but if you have good utility go ahead for sure 👍

foggy wedge
#

It is a maybe, and I like my dorks that also provide utility...

#

We'll see, but regardless if you find something fun in jund that's one or two mana let me know

foggy wedge
dusky radish
#

rampant growth is eeeeeeh its much better to just run creature versions of everything as your going to be playing reanim naturally

I would however drop umber collar zealot the less 1-3 drops you have the more 4+ drops you can play around with

i would consider Goreclaw a cut if you dont run enough 4 power creatures if you do run more thne she (he?) is a keep

Anger isn’t necessary its much better to just run a value 4 drop like [[solemn simulacrum]] which is so stupidly good two cards and a land for 3 mana is really good

proven domeBOT
foggy wedge
dusky radish
#

you’ve been hit by [[massacre wurm]] one too many times lmao also a really good cards for henzie

proven domeBOT
foggy wedge
#

I do enjoy a good massacre wurm

#

Especially when my partner has a [[hare apparent]] deck

proven domeBOT
dusky radish
#

that’s hilarious theres also [[primaris eliminator]] which is more targeted

proven domeBOT
foggy wedge
#

I'm debating running that one too but I'm probably just gonna go with the good ol' chupacabra

#

Two hate pieces specifically for go wide feels much

#

Especially considering the hares

dusky radish
#

I mean it can also double down as a chups and better yet shoot someone dorks to hell which can sometimes be useful

#

why run just chups when you can run both

foggy wedge
#

That's fair, idk
