#Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait

I suppose you are aiming for a standard token/some big dudes kind of decks? Nothing bad with it, but sometimes people want to focus on keeping a "marine" theme
Either way, the first thing I would do is drop every mana dork/rock in the deck, you simply don't need them, and would rather have land drops
Thank you for your response, I am very interested in playing this commander and you talk him up well and make me want to play him more haha.
I guess my idea of this deck was mainly fast ramp (which I hear he is already good at.. I just added mana dorks to ramp faster "my train of thought anyways lol") and the win cons was:
- snowball with landfall (Scute Swarm, avenger of zendikar, Rampaging baloths and field of the dead)
- Draw engine superiority (Aesi, slyvan library, remora) (Tireless tracker, provisioner)
- Graveyard land excursion (ramunap excavator, ancient greenwarden, splendid exclamation)
There is some additional ramp spell worth considering. Such as [[Entish restoration]] or [[Migration path]]

Sacrifice a land. Search your library for up to two basic land cards, put them onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffle. If you control a creature with power 4 or greater, instead search your library for up to three basic land cards, put them onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffle.
"Welcome to the Treegarth of Orthanc!"
Dropping a mana dork turn 1 might be helpful but I personally value the compactness of my cards. That Llanowar Elves ramp you for one mana, but [[Llanowar Scout]], even if slower, do much more late game
[[Retreat to Kazandu]] is a great way to stay alive. Experienced player will rush you down, knowing that if you reach late game you will be unstoppable. Staying alive before it happens and bouncing back from low hp is really important
Thank you for all of the suggestions, if you were to remove mana dorks for the 4x cards mentioned would you remove Llanowar Elves, Elvish mystic and birds of paradise? And what would be a good 4th cut?
[[Meloku the Clouded Mirror]] has an infinite with [[Retreat to Coralhelm]] + a tap:put land down. Even if it's a bit expensive I also like it as a way to generate flying blockers
I would consider removing Talisman of Curiosity and arcane signets
Ok gotcha so remove llanowar elves, birds of paradise, Elvish mystic, talisman of curiosity and arcane signet for the 5x mentioned correct?
Perhaps? I only dig a first pass on your deck list, in the end you know what direction you need to go. But my N.1 tips is avoid trying to win harder, with Aesi you often are in a winning position by turn 6-7, so you need to make sure you reach it
My aesi is a bit more blue focused, so I have a bunch of board wipes in the form of [[Whelming Wave]] and other similar cards. You currently don't have any board wipes, I would heavily consider adding some. If you spent 3 turns ramping bouncing everyone back to hands is not a symmitrical at all
Ok so survivability is key, stay alive until turn 6-8 to get in a good position with Aesi.. got it.
I am unsure of which way I need to go with the deck just yet as I haven't really played with the people at my LGS yet and that is why I was hoping I could get advice from those that might have already played this commander lol.
Btw Aesi came from a precon. So as always be aware of the bias it generates in tools like edhrec
Oh and [[Simic Charm]] is a great pick. I really love the flexibility from it, even tho some cards are better at doing one thing it offers

: You may put a land card from your hand onto the battlefield.
, Return a land you control to its owner's hand: Create a 1/1 blue Illusion creature token with flying.
