and some overall help on structuring the deck
Is the plan to go Voltron?
no
its clues
could be an alternative win con tho
i mainly wanna focus on clues
Ok, bant clues. And do you intend to draw cards with them, or use them as artifact tokens for other purposes.
kinda both
draw cards and able to get a load of them and use somehting like [[cyberdrive awakener]] to overwhelm
If you want to sacrifice them, it can make sense to run some cards that make it more efficient (reduce activation cost and such)
ye i have seen some
Ah, then you might prefer keeping them, and cards like [[Five Hundred Year Diary]] become relevant
also is it worth having back up no maximum hand size cards just in case my commander gets killed whilst i have lots of cards in my hand?
https://moxfield.com/decks/GDG9TydTTk-gR6mKeBixQg this is what i have so far
oh yeah should prolly say i want the deck to be like 75 dollar budget
Nah, typically, if you have more than 7 cards, you can just discard to your best 7 and still be good.
alr
Ok, I think there is a lot you can find in bant colors regarding clues.
yeah i think i need more help structuring it finding cards shouldnt be hard i just dont really know what things to put in and what not or if i have too much or too little of a certain thing
Ok, so there is [[Rise and Shine]] to act as a secondary Cyberdrive Awakener.
i have that in my list
Sweet
Now, these are ways to go wide with your clues. There are also some ways to go tall, with creatures that have a power/toughness related to the number of artifacts/clues/cards in hand. Or cards that provide such a buff.
i have academy manufactor in my list aswell also peregrine took so tons of token making and then i can animate them into creatures with rise and shine or cyberdrive like you said
[[Nyssa of Traken]] and [[Senator Peacock]] are two cards that could help your creatures push through for damage.
Legendary Creature — Human Scientist
You have no maximum hand size.
Sonic Booster — Whenever Nyssa of Traken attacks, sacrifice any number of artifacts. When you sacrifice one or more artifacts this way, tap up to that many target creatures and draw that many cards.
Doctor's companion (You can have two commanders if the other is the Doctor.)
3/4
basically free use of my clues aswell as tapping
In case you go tall with something like a [[Broodstar]] or [[Thousand Moons Smithy]]
Legendary Artifact
When Thousand Moons Smithy enters, create a white Gnome Soldier artifact creature token with "This token's power and toughness are each equal to the number of artifacts and/or creatures you control."
At the beginning of your first main phase, you may tap five untapped artifacts and/or creatures you control. If you do, transform Thousand Moons Smithy.
Barracks of the Thousand
Legendary Artifact Land
(Transforms from Thousand Moons Smithy.)
: Add
.
Whenever you cast an artifact or creature spell using mana produced by Barracks of the Thousand, create a white Gnome Soldier artifact creature token with "This token's power and toughness are each equal to the number of artifacts and/or creatures you control."
[[Inspired Statuary]] could make your clues tap for mana
no
[[Shimmer Dragon]] would allow you to tap your clues for cards without sacrificing them
Creature — Dragon
Flying
As long as you control four or more artifacts, this creature has hexproof. (It can't be the target of spells or abilities your opponents control.)
Tap two untapped artifacts you control: Draw a card.
The indigo dragon gladly traded a bit of its hoard for everlasting moonlight.
5/6
Usually not, but if you have artifact synergies, you might
You can also use on-theme cards like [[Kellan, Inquisitive Prodigy]], and the slightly expensive [[Academy Manufactor]] for ramp
Legendary Creature — Human Faerie Detective
Flying, vigilance
Whenever Kellan attacks, destroy up to one target artifact. If you controlled that permanent, draw a card.
3/4
Tail the Suspect

Sorcery — Adventure
Investigate. You may play an additional land this turn. (Then exile this card. You may cast the creature later from exile.)
Well, I do have a list of lands you can browse, best sort by cost. : https://archidekt.com/decks/19327300/nonbasic_lands_per_color_combination
There are also other commander options for this theme. But maybe you really like the fish?
im up for other recommendations
the fish man is the best ive seen and i like his abilities
of at upkeep investigating aswell as no max hand size and being able to become really big
[[Sophia, Dogged Detective]], [[The Third Doctor]]/[[The Seventh Doctor]] with either [[Susan Foreman]] (is immediately your ramp)
Legendary Creature — Human Detective
When Sophia enters, create Tiny, a legendary 2/2 green Dog Detective creature token with trample.
, Sacrifice an artifact token: Put a +1/+1 counter on each Dog you control.
Whenever a Dog you control deals combat damage to a player, create a Food token, then investigate.
3/4
Legendary Creature — Time Lord Doctor
Whenever The Seventh Doctor attacks, choose a card in your hand. Defending player guesses whether that card's mana value is greater than the number of artifacts you control. If they guessed wrong, you may cast it without paying its mana cost. If you don't cast a spell this way, investigate. (Create a Clue token. It's an artifact with "
, Sacrifice this token: Draw a card.")
3/6
or [[Sarah Jane Smith]]
Legendary Creature — Human Detective
Whenever you cast a historic spell, investigate. This ability triggers only once each turn. (Artifacts, legendaries, and Sagas are historic. To investigate, create a Clue token. It's an artifact with "
, Sacrifice this token: Draw a card.")
Doctor's companion (You can have two commanders if the other is the Doctor.)
2/1
those as seperate commanders or for the 99?
Well, I looked them up as alternative options for the commander you've picked. Not necessarily better, but different.
ill just stick with fish man
