Hey all, I've just finished my first EDH brew for [[The Master of Keys]]: https://moxfield.com/decks/i-fEh7ySBU6dIgiBAJ11QQ

I'm aiming for B2 or B3 with no game changers, and I've gone back and forth over and over about what I want the deck to do. I thought about doing a rooms deck, an enchantment creature/recursion deck, and a few others but I think I've settled on this, which is basically a light stax/tax deck that aims to win by producing tokens with Sigil of the Empty Throne, Archon of Sun's Grace, and/or Black Market Connections. I've also added Tempest Technique as a second potential wincon to attach to The Master of Keys (or really any creature in a pinch).

While it is a bit stax-y for lower brackets, I've tried to avoid locks and being totally uninteractable (hence no Greater Auramancy, for example). My problem is that there are just so many cool enchantments I'd love to run; it's been a real struggle to even cut the list to this point.

I welcome any and all suggestions to hone this deck, or even any links to Master of Keys decks that you may be running/enjoying for inspiration.

Legendary Enchantment Creature — Horror
Flying
When The Master of Keys enters, put X +1/+1 counters on it and mill twice X cards.
Each enchantment card in your graveyard has escape. The escape cost is equal to the card's mana cost plus exile three other cards from your graveyard. (You may cast cards from your graveyard for their escape cost.)

I'd say this is a bit stax heavy for bracket 2. They'd need incredible amounts of enchantment interaction. Especially with your commander being able to return them. The main problem you may have is in finishing the game.

If your opponents can't deal damage to you, they might just sit there and do nothing, holding up interaction for your one win condition. It's likely to be a very long game.

To be honest, I'm afraid I wouldn't like to play against this deck. 🙁

Perhaps you can build the deck in a bit more of a proactive way? More win conditions, perhaps focusing a bit more on self-mill to find them?

Thanks for having a look and your honest take on this! I was a bit afraid of this being the case. I like a grindy deck with slower wincons like this but I wonder if it's not really compatible with most decks at a bracket 2 power level due to the lack of removal like you say.

I've been thinking about taking out most of the stax elements and inserting dozen or so rooms and using that as a more fun/interactive wincon (with Central Elevator), and having Zur, Eternal Schemer/Starfield of Nyx/Opalescence to turn my rooms into giant creatures as a backup wincon/possibly more fun for opponents kind of deck.
