#Marit Lage Voltron - need some input

Hey, so, I'm pretty new to deckbuilding, and I made a silly thing I would love some input on: https://moxfield.com/decks/BccnW5SmjE6pejHqwW8jMg

This is a not-so-secret commander deck, where a good chunk of the ramp package doubles as nonbasic land tutors so I can get Dark Depths + Thespian's Stage to get a Marit Lage.
After I do that, this essentially becomes a voltron deck. Protect the secret commander, give it trample, apply power fist to face.

Except, instead of power boosts, which I largely don't need since the old lady is 20/20 already, I have some "create a copy of target creature except it's not legendary" effects.
These fulfill a bunch of roles: they protect me from exile/return to hand effects, they let me steal enemy creatures if they have something cool, and they let me double my landfall triggers if I don't have Marit Lage yet so I can get to her quicker.

Another quirk of the deck is I need to run a ton of land recursion since that's the only way I can get Marit Lage back if she does get exiled/controlled/returned to hand. I also have a few counterspells, some phase out, some hexproofing, but at the end of the day land recursion seems to be the main way I can protect her.

I chose Aesi as the face commander because he can act as a draw engine that gets me to Marit Lage faster. But his high mana cost makes me think there's got to be a better idea - in playtests, I often end up getting Marit Lage out before getting my 6th land out...

I'm trying to keep the theme of the deck to "marit lage voltron", so I got rid of a bunch of alternate wincons on purpose, like "landfall: each opponent losed 1 life" effects or "landfall: create a 4/4 beast" type stuff. (...I still have a scute swarm, but it's on the chopping block if I find something funnier)

I'm looking for general feedback since I have very little experience with deckbuilding, and I'm especially curious if this deck concept makes you think of cards I haven't found or thought of.

Oh yeah and I'm shooting for bracket 3. Crop rotation feels too good to pass up for this deck, and the combo-ish nature of it (even if it's not an instant-win combo) means I need opponents who are okay with a good bit of tutoring

I like it, seems like a fun time. Since you said you usually get Marit Lage out before your sixth land (i.e., before you cast Aesi), do you think you have enough draw / tutors already? Is there anything you feel like the deck is lacking?

I don't know how heavily you ramp into extra lands (since it seems like you're just looking for quality (specific lands) over quantity (lots of lands)), but if you do find yourself ramping a bunch, then [[zimone all-questioning]] can give you a kind of back-up Marit Lage

Legendary Creature — Human Wizard
At the beginning of your end step, if a land entered the battlefield under your control this turn and you control a prime number of lands, create Primo, the Indivisible, a legendary 0/0 green and blue Fractal creature token, then put that many +1/+1 counters on it. (2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, and 31 are prime numbers.)

On a slightly different note, since you want to do Voltron and you already have a bunch of land tutoring and ramping, you could put that ramping to good use even after you have Marit Lage out by way of [[mightform harmonizer]]

I've been doing goldfish playtests against some other bracket 3 decks, and usually the thing that makes me lose is losing Marit Lage right now
I tried to play more careful lines, where I have enough mana for both Marit Lage and a protection or clone spell on the same turn, and that helps a bit, but that makes the deck a lot slower as a result and opponents get to pop off before this deck does

Right now the decks that give me the most trouble are combo decks, because they usually run a lot of tutors... And can use those tutors to go search for removal. So the moment I have Marit Lage out it's usually gone before the end of the phase 😂
