I’ve recently put together a deck centered around [[Katilda and lier]] with the central game plan being to ramp a fair bit and then dump humans onto to board to reuse my ramp spells and gain incremental value before finishing with something like a [[triumph of the hordes]] or [[candlekeep inspiration]]. I’m currently looking for cuts for the list, but am also open to any additions that I might have missed while assembling the deck, and any feedback on how the list is currently constructed
#Help with Human Spellslinger please!

In general a spell slinger deck generally runs under 20 creatures with a commander. Though with your specific commander he cares about both creatures and spells.... So I'd say that you could be at 20-25. That being said I like your deck list so far but I would be at 35 lands...
If you are running counter spells.. in my opinion you should be at 4... A couple of cards id say that you should add [[pull from eternity]]
[[rift sweeper]]
I will admit, I actually love pull from eternity for this list as it can both be flashed back and puts the spells back in the yard for easy reuse, seems spectacular, not as big a fan of rift sweeper as I’m not running any combos and don’t see myself consistently using the spell again in all honesty.
I could also see going down to 35 lands with the amount of ramp I’m playing and my curve. I definitely hear ya about the high creature count as well, but do feel it’s somewhat warranted as you had mentioned.
If I may ask though, are there any cards you’d cut from the list to get it closer to 100 cards? I’m somewhat trapped on what to cut currently and am usually quite horrible lol.
Thank you as well for taking a look at my list! I really do appreciate it
The thing with riftsweeper is that you can flicker him and he will bring back pull from eternity so..
I'm not a big fan of aang in order to get him to a 5/5 you have to spend 11 mana... He is a waste of mana for any of his abilities in my opinion
Since you are running human tribalish.. you could probably cut enduring.... It's nice having mana but your draw will not keep up with your ramp in my opinion
Plus you do have kellan and katilda
You could cut Monastery his token ability doesn't create humans
Your only running 2 counter spells i'd probably run 4 because it's high unlikely hood for you to see any counterspells most of the time... Well maybe half the time...
Most decks I run or that I want to run counterspells usually have 4 especially when I have a lot of draw, you definitely have enough to play several spells but.... Except my newly built and weird budget deck
My budget has 3 but that's because 1 of them makes a land a counterspells on a stick
Bloom tender is an elf (if I was going to put a non human in... I'd do beast whisperer
If you want more mana I'd add [[citanul hierophants]]
I believe you have a good point about both of those cuts! Thank you very much. By chance might I ask what counterspells you’d run in this list, and if there is anything you’d swap for them?
Thank you again for your advice and suggestions! I appreciate it
You could add regular counterspell and arcane denial as well as possibly just run [[mana short]] on someone's upkeep
I do like arcane denial a lot, though to combine the two ideas I think [[permission denied]] might be pretty neat
If I may ask, would you cut anything to go alongside the addition of these cards?
I would cut at least 5 of your creatures... Maybe 6 or 7
That seems reasonable, may I ask if any stand out to you as particularly noteworthy to cut or trim?
Respectable pun as well
Cosmo seems underwhelming
Monastery
Bloom
I'm back and forth with coppercoat... Humans in mtg are underwhelming and often don't always get targeted so ward 1... How often is that really going to happen .... Your commander sure but... Its one card in 100
It’s definitely not a complete protection, but it does disincentivize any sorts of miscellaneous pinging based removal, and does add a small anthem
Cathar .... You already have a lot of removal it seems redundant
Yea... It's why I'm back and forth...
