Deck focused around stacking +1/+1 through board wipes with diaochan
Murder in red, huh?
Always nice to see old cards
Is Godo actually that useful here?
I feel like Diaochan will get destroyed by her own effect a lot, right?
You have protection but I’m not sure if it’s enough to make additional combats that worth it
Not really
she can infinitely tap herself
Due to thorn staff
I plan to get 3 equipments on her
Thorn staff/Lightning greaves
And one of the swords that gains +1/+1 whenever a creature dies
And then i can use chandra's or whatever and double the attack from dictate of twin gods
and slap people in the face with like a 12/12
about that, actually
I don't like dictate of the twin gods very much here
you don't have a lot of player burn aside from thornbite staff, and doubling 1 damage isn't very efficient
and if you're just looking to go for a voltron strategy, I think it's too double-edged and there's probably better ways to increase combat damage
also meltdown seems out of place considering you have 20 artifacts
you might want something more flexible
like, yes you can profit from artifacts going to the graveyard, but that doesn't mean you want your own artifacts to be destroyed usually
I think that will be a dead card in hand too much of the time because it has no alternate mode
magnetic theft also seems bad for similar reasons- you are not running a critical mass of equipment, and most of them have low equip cost anyway
it is a ritual essentially but not a very good one here
more so for brass squire- why would you want to pay 3 mana and wait a turn for that effect? at least magnetic theft is fast
you get a free attach once per turn cycle, sure, but...
any "gets value over time" creature has the massive problem that it will be vulnerable to getting destroyed by diaochan
lightning greaves/swiftfoot boots will not help with that
even if your redirection effects do, it doesn't seem worth it
I'm assuming this isn't meant to be a budget deck per se since it's estimated at around $600 on moxfield
so I think there's a decent number of cards that you could afford to run better versions of
like [[Wild Guess]] is not at all on rate for a red draw spell
Cloud Key seems a bit odd
presumably you will name artifacts but you have a relatively even split between card types
so just regular ramp seems like it would work better
like Mind Stone, or something
So i can run down the thought process, due to the amount of ramp you see i see a chance that i get brass squire and the key that untaps a artifact meaning i can double equip in a turn if i wanted to, again the plan isnt to keep him on field for a while, or just put him out, i dont plan on using diaochan at all until she has the equipment on her to not get destroyed by her own effect and thorn staff
brass squire is just a terrible rate for that effect is all
it is a creature so it will be summoning sick
Oh sure
Yeah its slow, its just there for a "just in case"
This deck isnt meant for IRL but online play so cost i didnt care about NGL
I think you have too many "just in case" cards in here, honestly
oh, excellent
I'm the same
in that case, you can improve this so much
Oh definetly, also the reason there is so much artifact removal is because diao chan would suffer against stuff like balan decks
Where its just one indestructible/shroud/hexproof/prot from red creature
So destroying her equipments is the goal
I think you may want to consider player removal
so, full disclosure, I don't normally play red, so I may have misconceptions about some things
but I do think that I can find some better versions of cards you are already running
Oh probably yeah
But yeah i focused a lot on trying to cover things that diaochan couldnt deal with
hence trying my best with dictate and chandra's ignition
To one shot if needed
hm, do you know whether you can add me as a contributor?
I don't actually know how moxfield works
Let me check
Send me your moxfield name
Or you can just copy the deck
and make your own version
could, yeah, although I think it might be more convenient to do it this way (but if you'd like to keep your version of the deck as is for now I understand)
TheSilkenWeaver
I mean you dont need to add each thing one by one just import the deck list into your own builder
oh, I mean in terms of seeing what changes I'm making
otherwise you'll have to cross-reference
Oh thats fine since you can view change history
Meaning if you copy it 1:1 and then start changing
its gonna write it all down
true, okay, let me see if I can get it over here
I'm going to put the cards I take out into "Considering"
so that it's easier to see what you might want to put back in
if you want to take a look as I'm working on it
Alright
@ashen void [[All Will Be One]] could be a fun toy if you want to lean into +1/+1 counters?
Enchantment
Whenever you put one or more counters on a permanent or player, this enchantment deals that much damage to target opponent, creature an opponent controls, or planeswalker an opponent controls.
The Invasion Tree broke through the Blind Eternities and sent Phyrexian perfection coursing across the Multiverse.
it's not worth it currently, though
I'm not sure I see what Magistrate Scepter and Voltaic Key are doing here- if it's part of some win condition, let me know, but I'm taking them out for now
so it turns out that Swiftfoot Boots doesn't actually protect from Diaochan's ability (I asked in the rules channel just to make sure)
since you control the ability
I've cut it for now- feel free to add it back in if you just want a haste enabler or to protect from opponents' removal
@ashen void I'm going to be taking a break from working on this for now- I think I've improved it, though
I haven't necessarily added the best cards- I was trying to hew close to what I felt like you wanted to do with the deck
hence things like [[vicious shadows]], which I'm not sure are necessarily worthwhile but seem pretty neat
The cards in the sideboard are additional things that seemed possibly in theme, so you can take a look to see if you want them
I think this deck is kind of lacking a win condition, which I haven't really solved, but that's a problem for later
there's probably a lot more work that needs to be done on this, but let me know what you think of my suggestions so far! I'll relink this for you
I have Crackle with Power and Insurrection in sideboard for that reason
but Crackle is sad because you have no real mana generation, and Insurrection is sad because you want to be destroying creatures
I don't think the damage doublers/triplers here are actually that great, but I put a couple in the sideboard since you seem to want such an effect
and I moved pain for all and dictate of the twin gods to sideboard instead of considering
you definitely don't need to run all of the Swords if you don't want to, since I'm not sure how much ability protection you're looking for
but I felt like they were better than Sanctuary Blade, and you seem to want a voltron direction already, so I put them in for you to choose from
@timber moat Sorry mb i fell asleep and then had to go to work, ill read all the stuff now
