There’s definitely some good cards here, but it looks like you don’t have enough card draw (I say that as someone who regularly forgets to add that)

#

[[Dark deal]] could help draw and fill your graveyard, [[korvachs favor]] could do something similar too

No card found for “korvachs favor”

@neat pollen do you think cheaper draw spells over the tutors?

#

I don’t really play reanimator decks so this is also very new

neat pollen
#

There’s been a fair amount of discussion (today, actually) about the general value of tutors

#

They can be useful if you have a specific combo line your deck builds towards, or in this case wants in the gy to get back

#

I try to run a max of three in a deck, usually less than that

pallid venture
#

Ok, this deck is definitely running more than that 😂

neat pollen
#

But every deck is different, some want more tutors than others

#

Well “want” is relative to how important a specific line is for any given deck

#

It’s up to you how many tutors you want to run

#

One suggestion though: ETB’s are super great for reanimating in general

#

Well, as targets for reanimating I mean

#

[[massacre wurm]] clears a fair amount of fields (although Terra can’t grab it)

Massacre Wurm and Massacre girl I did consider

#

Trying out with draw power and while it definitely feels better, still doesn't feel right

neat pollen
#

Yeah sometimes deck clicks immediately and sometimes it takes adjustments and tweaks

#

Like “this card sounds awesome, but it’s actually not that great in practice” kinds of changes

Math is fun, probability is frustrating

#

Well I say “fun” as if math is easy for me, it’s not lol

#

There’s cards like [[land tax]] that could help but are impossible to reasonably play test

desert ivyBOT

I have a confetti foil Land tax I;ve been wanting to put in a deck lmaooo maybe this is it!

#

I also realized I didn't have Sevinne's in there which I changed, it helps when you need to get a sac outlet artifact out of the GY

[[archeaomancers map]]

oh shit I spelled it right this could help too

pallid venture

What are your thoughts on Sephiroth, I know he’s good but do you think I have too many of those effects?

neat pollen
#

Eh he’s fine, worse case scenario he baits out removal

I just can't decide if I should go with a more Karmic guide build or Grave Crawler

neat pollen
#

It looks alright. If you can’t decide which line to go for you can make a copy of the deck and have each one, then figure out what you like more

pallid venture
neat pollen
#

I’m not sure tbh

neat pollen

# neat pollen It mostly comes down to what *you* enjoy more, a deck isn’t fun if you build wit...

Thank you Mikazuki, I really took this to heart and thought about it from why I loved the series and idea of the deck. So I made a version that does use Karmic Guide, but also centers around the idea of a party, using Borokos as ramp. Let me know your thoughts, goldfishing has been really fun!! https://moxfield.com/decks/NyTusNBtP0ezX2ZENaCgXQ

Small note, I really like [[Undercity Informer]] as it’s a nonfree sac outlet that can mill you quite a lot of solutions

desert ivyBOT
neat pollen
#

Oh yeah that definitely looks like it’ll help

twilit nexus
#

@neat pollen I’m just trying a bunch of stuff it’s not like I have a clue 😆

For sure one thing I noticed while playing is that the 2-mill trigger does send a lot of useful stuff to the graveyard — potentially at twice the base rate you get cards in your hand — so you shouldn’t really rely on your hand filling up with good stuff. Provided you have ways to protect Terra — milling is “drawing” and drawing won’t get you forward.

neat pollen
#

One risk is you could accidentally send something you need to the GY without anyway to get it back, but most reanimator decks shouldn’t run into that issue too often

twilit nexus
#

I mean, in this case you do it systematically, not intentionally: you don’t [[Faithless Looting]] your best creatures in (which is the OK way), you can dump that land drop you needed or that instant that protects your commander, or that artifact combo piece… so any effect should preferably be on a creature that you can reanimate, and if not it should be via flashback/harmonize

desert ivyBOT
neat pollen
#

Yeah that makes sense. My only reanimating deck is [[Master, Transcendent]] so I’m not too familiar with what adding red lets you get away with

Legendary Artifact Creature — Mutant
When The Master enters, target player gets two rad counters.
manat: Put target creature card in a graveyard that was milled this turn onto the battlefield under your control. It's a green Mutant with base power and toughness 3/3. (It loses its other colors and creature types.)

You have a bit of flashback, [[Past in Flames]] and [[Recoup]] but you need a lot of mana to make good use of them. Any ideas are appreciated.

[[Seething song]] or effects like it can help, so can mana rocks like [[relic of legends]]
