#Need help to encourage the deck to be fun to play into - mono black Vincent Valentine

I'm currently working on a mono black Vincent Valentine deck, the most obvious way to make the deck super strong quite easily is with the edicts - plaguecrafter etc, but does this feel too unfun to play into? targetted removal is almost expected, but it feels like if you're constantly having to sac creatures the game can be really unfun?

Am I overthinking this, or if you were against the deck would you prefer it if it was built a bit differently?

Legendary Creature — Assassin
Whenever a creature an opponent controls dies, put a number of +1/+1 counters on Vincent Valentine equal to that creature's power.
Whenever Vincent Valentine attacks, you may transform it.

Galian Beast
Legendary Creature — Werewolf Beast
Trample, lifelink
When Galian Beast dies, return it to the battlefield tapped (front face up).
"This body is... the punishment that's been given to me..."

That play style is very common in aristocrats decks - not something you can really avoid with Vincent. It's only to be expected though and I wouldn't worry too much

Tempted to run a deathtouch subtheme, and use some sort of goad style, like [[maddening imp]]

But fishing for other ideas than edicts really haha

Unfortunately board wipes and edicts are kinda Vincent's thing. Same with Sephiroth and Zodiark, just mono black things!

#

Deathtouch will usually mean you either won't get attacked or won't get blocked, and even when you do, it'll likely just be a trade and so you won't get value

#

But something like a [[soul shatter]] will pump up Vincent massively

Maybe do edicts but not the giga oppressive [[Grace Pact]] type shit

No card found for “Grace Pact”

You could also mess with giving opponents creatures for lols

Yeah, I realise they are the strongest spells for the deck - but I'd rather have a slightly weaker deck that's enjoyable to have a game against.

The deathtouch would work in a battlecruisery meta - youre right they wouldnt necessarily be the ones dying giving vincent value, but combined with the maddening imp they'd make my oponents swing into each other rather than me

giving opponents cards isn't a bad shout

I know your advice was not to run grave pact, but actually that may be an answer to the problem haha. Aslong as I dont run sac outlets myself/destroy my own things, my opponents can puzzle over it

World Enchantment
Cumulative upkeep mana1manab (At the beginning of your upkeep, put an age counter on this permanent, then sacrifice it unless you pay its upkeep cost for each age counter on it.)
At the beginning of each upkeep, if this enchantment is on the battlefield, each player creates a 2/2 black Zombie creature token with haste named Tombspawn for each creature card in their graveyard.
At the beginning of each end step and when this enchantment leaves the battlefield, destroy all tokens created with this enchantment. They can't be regenerated.

Grows Vincent

Gives everyone creatues

#

And is not oppressive cuz people can swing at each other

#

And Vincent gets massive cuz all the tokens die at the end
