#Deadpool: Communal Brewing

deadpool seem to have some strange rules when it has death triggers
or the eldrazi shuffle trigger
In what ways other than eldrazi?
The shuffle titans one is because of the use of “from anywhere” in the trigger
isnt there blightsteal as well
Blightsteel’ is a replacement effect
u havent lived until you have killed of a player with deadpools activated ability against something like thoracle combo 😅
3 more cards in the mail. Saturday is game day. Excited to play finally
The first one of his was about me after I posted the first draft of the list in his discord. The second one has been followup for the other 8 lists that got posted after mine in there.
Warstorm surge and terror of the peaks are absolutely worth the include if anyone is on the fence about either.
tldr: put other flicker/clone payoffs in your 99
[[!Pain magnification]] is another option I have been testing as I lean more towards Rakdos Stax each day.
must play packrat with deadpool!
Wait that wouldn’t be good though, since Deadpool would gain the CDA so if there’s no other rats he’d die
would * / * ability even fuction since it doesnt have that
Yes, same if he swapped with a Tarmogoyf
so need marvin in there
necrotic ooze as well
Delina is crazy with deadpool for sure
[[Stormsplitter]] 🤔
It's a neat idea in practice. But we don't have that many instant and sorcery cards. It's a nice way to make extra clones per turn though
also [[Graywater's Fixer]] seem very good with deadpool
Creature — Lizard Mercenary
Each outlaw creature card in your graveyard has encore
, where X is its mana value. (Exile it and pay its encore cost: For each opponent, create a token copy that attacks that opponent this turn if able. They gain haste. Sacrifice them at the beginning of the next end step. Activate only as a sorcery.)
4/4
deadpool would give [[Heat Shimmer]] text if could avoid the legendary
It does give the heatshimmer text before the legendary state check
Heatshimmer and Delina both transfer the exile at end of turn clause to the opponents card before legend rule kills the second DP.
if the deadpool would have a name sticker would it legend rule other deadpools? xD
[[Minion Reflector]] would also work
Yes that is true, but to be honest it is counter-synergistic with what we want to do ideally, or at least what my list aims to do. We don't want the cancer leaving the board if we can avoid it. Which is why I am almost full blown stax now with Cursed Totem, Damping Matrix, Ensnaring Bridge, Silent Arbiter, Kazuul Tyrant of the Cliffs, and Brash Taunter
Just you have the token remakn on yourside if you can avoid the legendary rule
No, the "at the end of turn sacrifice/exile this permanent" transfers with the text swap
I don't want my opponents to have a free outlet to get rid of the -3 life per turn from the swaps.
Got two of each of only 6 of the 12 different Deadpools, but they’re here and ready for text swapping
lol so mean
One of my playgroups would prefer I play Grand Arbiter over my DP list now. This is a surprisingly great feeling.
Yes so your deadpool copy stays
I understand you want it more that all their to have the drain3
But still some huge creatures i would want gone
Yeah, that and Warstorm Surge/Terror of the Peaks are my primary kill conditions
I see deadpool more as a huge clone in an unordinary color
I am running Heat Shimmer and Delina for that, and a bunch of spot removal, but I didn't want to full send on the Minion Reflector due to the cost involved per play of DP
Reflector is great if having other stuff than deadpool you want to have more etb on
Which I don't have room for since I have around 16 ways to make clones or copies of DP. Terror would be nice, but I'd want the copy to stick
Priest of gix, reflector and bounce thing artifact from ravnica for inf mana
My total non-DP etbs. Hunted Horror, Orcish Bowmasters, Boggart Trawler, Dualcaster Mage, and Pinnacle Monk
I really should consider adding Torpor Orb...
No wait I should not.
Cursed mirror is something i have been a fan of for a long time now
It is quite strong for a mana rock
Yeap
[[jaxis trouble]] is one of the few kiki jikis that can target legenday creature also draws a card
Legendary Creature — Human Warrior
,
, Discard a card: Create a token that's a copy of another target creature you control. It gains haste and "When this token dies, draw a card." Sacrifice it at the beginning of the next end step. Activate only as a sorcery.
Blitz
(If you cast this spell for its blitz cost, it gains haste and "When this creature dies, draw a card." Sacrifice it at the beginning of the next end step.)
2/3
IIRC Deadpool will give the card draw to the swapped creature
its not an exception tho
Ah, “gains” rather than “has” thought it was similar to Delina
ye kinda annoying every red clone has diffrent texts xD
some are layer 3 and some are layer 6 xD
gonna be fun explaining this to less experianced players xD
Deadpool top16 a cedh at scgcon denver
https://moxfield.com/decks/OTPEUaKbXU2XmPPf73I7bQ
goes inf with Worldgorger combo + Deadpool + Forbidden Orchard
sexy idea worth adding for sure
Feedback from showing my friend the deck
Thanks
Might as well throw my brew in here trying to figure out the last cuts
The combo is actually just Worldgorger + Animate Dead/Necromancy/Dance of the Dead for infinite mana -> then Deadpool sacrifices himself infinite times to force everyone to draw infinite cards
I started building Deadpool and all I can think is that this deck is never going to be fun
It'll either be super unfun for my opponents getting everything removed
Or unfun for me as everyone targets me hard because my commander is a hateful, hateful man
Ironically id think half the time removing Deadpool is dangerous because of scam effects and then Deadpool can come back again to mess with another creature..
It's both. Only play this deck if you're ready to be the table villain or money is on the line.
"You don't win friends with Deadpool."
I feel like Deadpool is almost a trust exercise for a playgroup.
I don’t know, my thought bubbles said not to worry about it 😉
How is it at cedh level?
That is such a goofy combo
Good ole Worldgorger dragon. Been a problem for 20+ years.
I have a [[Graywater's Fixer]] lying around and I feel like it would be really good with Deadpool
Creature — Lizard Mercenary
Each outlaw creature card in your graveyard has encore

Encore Deapool then return to CZ, create 3 copies ezgg
I finally got to play deadpool and by chance everyone I was playing with had sacrifice outlets all game
So I think in total I pool'd about 10-15 creatures but ended up costing people like 9 life total and got no draws lol
the card has been insane, deadpool itself is a very strong card
This is my brew, I have no idea how it is going to perform, need to test it. Will be hard to find people willing to be test subjects for this horrible deck. https://moxfield.com/decks/DPjD4LNdbE61K3SL41xtfA
I'm not sure how oops all deadpools is gonna win though
Like what 👀
An obvious but costly answer is [[archon of cruelty]]
[[Warstorm Surge]] and [[Terror of the Peaks]] are quite heavy hitting
[[rottenmouth viper]] [[pyrogoyf]]
Creature — Elemental Snake
As an additional cost to cast this spell, you may sacrifice any number of nonland permanents. This spell costs
less to cast for each permanent sacrificed this way.
Whenever this creature enters or attacks, put a blight counter on it. Then for each blight counter on it, each opponent loses 4 life unless that player sacrifices a nonland permanent of their choice or discards a card.
6/6
Multiple cards match “calamity,”, can you be more specific?
Yessss rottenmouth is getting put in mine. And Calamity! I've been looking for a home for those
Oh wait Calamity is non-legendary haha
Realizing Rottenmouth is a favorite design of mine because it's the closest we have gotten to [[invoke calamity]] on a permanent (missing the draw...)
Blah! [[Invoke despair]]
Finally got back to the LGS
Now to find my rakdos deck and slide Deadpool into the command zone
Have others here been playing with him already? Thoughts?
maybe dont fit for multiplayer but deadpool won duel commander in france
https://www.mtgtop8.com/event?e=67945&d=714086&f=EDH
Ok, before I put the mana base in, any thoughts on the shell of this list?
Kind of split the difference between tokens and self-swap, wanted to give myself a bunch of self-swap tools but not go too toxic with it
@fluid glacier @slate charm @sharp depot @grizzled plume @tame stream
Sorry for the tag, scrambling to finish this in time for Hartford tomorrow 😅
I think Karazikar may be a mistake
Based on the number of people I've heard about where it just kills them
Same with [[lord of pain]] but it can move the game pretty fast.
As in the draw more focus on killing me faster?
Yes but it also triggers for each creature that attacks
So like, if someone has a token deck
They may not die from it but if you have 3 opponents who try to kill you just from that
I think [[garna|dmu]] is a better fit
Garna reminds me of the new zurgo
Yeah, they go together
But like, if the master's not out your'e sacrificing the myriad tokens or delina's tokens
wait no myuriad exile
Sorry
Thinking about too many things
But still
I think she's just less likely to get you killed
Myriad deadpools will die without mirror box
Or the master
Creature — Orc Wizard
First strike
Whenever this creature attacks, for each creature token you control that entered this turn, create a tapped and attacking token that's a copy of that token. At the beginning of the next end step, sacrifice those tokens.
"Blink or don't. You'll get hit either way."
3/3
but that's a different idea
Yup, I just don’t have one in hand, though a vendor tomorrow should
Still a huge fan of [[Cursed Totem]] and [[Damping Matrix]]
What about [[Baeloth barrityl]]? Self swap that and goad everything 5 or less?
Legendary Creature — Elf Shaman
Creatures your opponents control with power less than Baeloth Barrityl's power are goaded. (They attack each combat if able and attack a player other than you if able.)
Whenever a goaded attacking or blocking creature dies, you create a Treasure token.
Choose a Background (You can have a Background as a second commander.)
2/5
Also made a couple swaps for Wurmcoil engine (more life gain and temporary token payoff), and out Gloin and Forge, Neverwinter Charlatan in for some additional treasure payoff/goad
Local report: a Deadpool player appeared as a chaos pilot. Cast Share the Spoils then kept not removing the key creatures of an aggro deck that used Durnan & Passionate Archeologist to burn the table down.
I don’t think the pilot understood the assignment.
I can see that.
Seconded on Baeloth.
BEHOLD
Haha thats amazing
Went back an updated my list to bring it back down to a 3
https://moxfield.com/decks/fKj6nsU7XEWvmHE-W8TbYA
And a nice and spicy bracket 4/5 version
https://moxfield.com/decks/5nX03G_Ef0u4Q5KZxv_esQ
@hybrid panther we had a big bit on this a while back for the Deadpool clone rules. You can also find some inspiration here
man i hate this card
espeially when its a commander
its just "you dont get to use your commander"
I read that already! I dont play him in my command zone, but id like to understand how my cards work if a case comes up, and i play him in the 99 a lot
I love Deadpool but I'm sad I can never make a commander deck with him because he's so unfun to play against
He's pretty cool in the 99 though
Yeah
Especially for decks that need their commander
Just play with a vehicle as your commander
Or a planeswalker
Tell that to [[imskir]]
Legendary Creature — Demon
Affinity for artifacts (This spell costs
less to cast for each artifact you control.)
When Imskir enters, you draw X cards and you lose X life, where X is half the number of artifacts you control, rounded down.

, Sacrifice an artifact: Imskir deals damage equal to the sacrificed artifact's mana value to any target.
5/5
Or [[horde of notions]]
Who else can helm a 5c elemental reanimator deck
How would it be 5c
[[Infinite guideline station]]
Legendary Artifact — Spacecraft
When Infinite Guideline Station enters, create a tapped 2/2 colorless Robot artifact creature token for each multicolored permanent you control.
Station (Tap another creature you control: Put charge counters equal to its power on this Spacecraft. Station only as a sorcery. It's an artifact creature at 12+.)
12+ | Flying
Whenever Infinite Guideline Station attacks, draw a card for each multicolored permanent you control.
7/15
You dont need a commander
Kenrith
Kenrith does the exact same thing but better lmao
Oh but hes a creature
Yeah and what if horde dies
And he's in the 99
Or he's exiled
reanimate him
Gow am I gonna reanimate elemental spells
You literally said youre reanimator
Exiled?
[[Pull from eternity]] [[riftsweeper]]
Plus youre hinging on one creature in the 99
Thats fundamentally wrong when brewing a resilient 99
Its fine if its your commander though
Or a secret commander
But if you wanted to beat deadpool stealing your commander
The best way to do so is to not have a legal swappable target for deadpool or just dont play that game
. If you do, create a token that's a copy of that creature, except it has haste and "At the beginning of the end step, sacrifice this permanent."

: You may play target Elemental card from your graveyard without paying its mana cost.
