#Help - Need to cut 10 cards from Kambal, Profiteering Mayor

I keep looking at [[afterlife insurance]]. At face value it seems like it would be great, but thinking about it - the times it would be best is a board wipe, but then, it's highly likely my commander is dead by the time the afterlife tokens hit the battlefield.
Instant
Creatures you control gain afterlife 1 until end of turn. Draw a card. (When a creature with afterlife 1 dies, create a 1/1 white and black Spirit creature token with flying.)
As far as the Orzhov Syndicate is concerned, it is the height of irresponsibility not to have a plan for your own ghost.
[[Wedding ring]]
Seems fun, since I would get two of them; but for my "partner" it would also negate the main victory condition of triggering Kambal
Artifact
When this artifact enters, if it was cast, target opponent creates a token that's a copy of it.
Whenever an opponent who controls an artifact named Wedding Ring draws a card during their turn, you draw a card.
Whenever an opponent who controls an artifact named Wedding Ring gains life during their turn, you gain that much life.
I thought about doing kambal from a hunted deck type
So this is interesting to see
I don't think the lecturer works the way you want
Or i misremembered Kambal
I remembered him as caring about creating a token when it's about token etbing
I think you could drop a swamp, thought vessel and phyrexian arena and one of the tutors
Probably grim?
Infernal genesis is a card I own and I keep waffling over.
Just because it's 6 mana
The games I play seem to end around t8 or t9, so I'd get 2ish rounds of triggers.
And each card probably makes 2 tokens on average?
That would still be 8 tokens for you (8 life gained and inflicted) - but you're right - at 6 mana it probably is too slow
For the same reason I could probably lose divine visitation
It has a really high ceiling
Same with visitation
I love Kambal and am always happy to see people building him
Also dropping the perch protection.
I don't have a deck finished with him as commander yet, but I have him in my Vihaan deck
No card found for “vihaan deck”
[[Vihaan]]
Vihaan, Goldwaker <:manar:292901508796645397><:manaw:1007102126813610074><:manab:292901508872273920>
Legendary Creature — Dwarf Warlock
Other outlaws you control have vigilance and haste. (Assassins, Mercenaries, Pirates, Rogues, and Warlocks are outlaws.)
At the beginning of combat on your turn, you may have Treasures you control become 3/3 Construct Assassin artifact creatures in addition to their other types until end of turn.
3/3
I really liked the idea of leaning into the "giving other people tokens" to get more tokens.
I don't know ow if it will actually be... good. But it seems interesting
I think losing the infernal Genesis is a good call. For 5 mana, the [[awaken the erstwhile]] is much bigger bang
If you're leaning into that then thought vessel may make sense to keep for maximum discard punch
But ymmv with other opponents
Assuming like... 3 cards each player. That would be a each make 3. Then you make 9 more.
Crap
I just realized that Kambal only would do 2 life triggers off that
That also makes [[tombstone stairwell]] less interesting
World Enchantment
Cumulative upkeep
(At the beginning of your upkeep, put an age counter on this permanent, then sacrifice it unless you pay its upkeep cost for each age counter on it.)
At the beginning of each upkeep, if this enchantment is on the battlefield, each player creates a 2/2 black Zombie creature token with haste named Tombspawn for each creature card in their graveyard.
At the beginning of each end step and when this enchantment leaves the battlefield, destroy all tokens created with this enchantment. They can't be regenerated.
One good thing with it is you keep the tombspawn you make from opponents
Yeah
Because they weren't made with the enchantment
That would be a ton of zombies at least. Maybe I keep that just to see how it feels because it's a weird card. I like finding uses for old cards like that
It seems like a lot of people just do a standard aristocrat with him. But that didn't seem very... original
Which is funny?
[[Hare apparent]]
Oh nice, yeah
What about [[angel's trumpet]]? I think it might just backfire poorly on me
I know using a mass reanimate only drains for 1 with Kambal but there are soul sisters triggers
Yeah, I think less so if you kept the angel tokens? Like you need to reliably swing
Maybe [[Teysa Karlov]] makes sense if you go that route?
Legendary Creature — Human Advisor
If a creature dying causes a triggered ability of a permanent you control to trigger, that ability triggers an additional time.
Creature tokens you control have vigilance and lifelink.
While Kaya is guildmaster, Teysa waits patiently at the center of the Orzhov web of power.
2/4
For the "tokens have vigilance and lifelink"
The trumpet gives vigilance. But, with only the ghostly prison protecting me from just being the person attacked, I think it'd be a bad idea
Yeah
I think my misread on Kambals life trigger might have made this like considerably worse than I was thinking. May need to go find some other "for each creature etb" triggers
[[Elas il kor]]
If you go with this build never demonstrate the [[charismatic conqueror]]
Because too many of them on the board can draw the game
Ok
I have down to 100 now
I love the card but it's worth pointing out
I put the divine visitation back in
Just for all the tokens being made, since what they are might matter more now
Plus, it and the tombstone stairwell would get pretty silly
Yeah
