Hey !
Looks like an interesting and unusual build
As i tried a weird Satya non energy and got some help from @sharp hearth, maybe i can have you interested in here ? (Have to admit i have no clue on upgrades but you seemed to have some knack for this kind of stuff 🙃 )
Hmm
I'm awful at any enter the dungeon stuff, and I'm not actually that great at upgrading completely unfamiliar decks, but to me this decklist seems pretty unfocused
The biggest thing I think this deck could improve on is the mana/color requirements---I see a couple random Eldrazi pulling the entire curve/avg mana value sky high, Phyrexian Obliterator and Phyrexian Vindicator costing BBBB and WWWW, respectively, and some more high CMC spells that seem hard to actually get to in Esper colors
The mana base itself could also use work
The deck itself also looks more like a pile of generically good Esper cards (and some pretty bad ones) and less like anything that has synergy with your commander (I don't see a ton of enter the dungeon cards in this deck)
Thanks for the insight @sharp hearth 🙂
Indeed there isn't a lot of enter the dungeon, the ones i've kept allow me to enter multiple times (by attacking, etc) rather than only once as ETB, or rather powerful ones who gives initiatives, etc.
I'm curious about the "pretty bad esper cards" you've identified.
For the time being the main way of entering a dungeon in this deck is via draw / discard.
Also curious about the work that can be done regarding the mana base 🙂
But I agree that this deck is pretty unfocused, tbh it was my first ever built commander, and has gone through a lot of iterations (not necessarily all good)
Hey, thanks for the response! Imo, the “pretty bad Esper cards” in question would be things like Ashen Rider (8 mana, double white and black in cost for a double exile effect), the incarnation cycle, Karmic Guide, and Merfolk Looter
In terms of the mana base, you’ve got your shocks and fetches, but I think things like [[Otawara]] [[Eiganjo empire]] or [[takenuma]] could replace at least some basics
Beyond that, I’d endorse replacing your check/reveal/slow lands with things like pain lands, surveil lands (fetchable but enter tapped), Exotic Orchard, Mana Confluence, City of Brass (probably should add these last two imo). The tapped non-fetchable triome I’d also get rid of for one of these
