@modest ocean what do you think about this?

tacit lotus
#

how are you trying to actually win?

#

make a bunch of tokens and slowly chip away?

#

the pure discounters don't seem greatwhen you have 20+ spells that don't have discountable costs

archmage of runes is good because at least you get extra draw

#

if you're going to insist on playing single target removal, i would replace most of the bad blue ones with better white ones

lone quail
#

And using divining top to cycle through stuff you don’t want.

tacit lotus
#

i would only play pong and hybrid when you're in only izzet

#

when you have access to white, you have better options that can either hit more permanent types and/or exile

lone quail
#

Alright, I understand. A win condition of the deck is also to like mystical tutor one of your better enchantments to the top and then flashing it in or playing it. Stuff like that, casting the one mana cards makes your commander a good attacker.

#

Here’s the edhrec of the commander.

tacit lotus
#

i'm familiar with the commander

#

none of your spells give evasion though, so you can do all this cantrippy prowess stuff and have your commander just to get chumped by any thing

lone quail
#

So replace some of the one mana cantrips with small buffers to help creatures do more dmg?

#

I’m fine with also just scrapping the deck. I just wanted to build a new thing to try out on Sunday.

tacit lotus
#

i would cut the discounters first

#

only keep the ones that do something meaningfully extra like archmage of runes

#

even [[eluge]] would be way better because that actually works on coloured pips

pastel stagBOT
#

Multiple cards match “eluge”, can you be more specific?

tacit lotus
#

[[eluge shoreless sea]]

pastel stagBOT
#

Legendary Creature — Elemental Fish
Eluge's power and toughness are each equal to the number of Islands you control.
Whenever Eluge enters or attacks, put a flood counter on target land. It's an Island in addition to its other types for as long as it has a flood counter on it.
The first instant or sorcery spell you cast each turn costs manau (or mana1) less to cast for each land you control with a flood counter on it.

tacit lotus
#

out of your token generators, i think chrome host seed shark is your worst one

#

with all the 1 mana spells, you don't wanna spend another 2 mana to flip into a creature

lone quail
#

Alright, so should I replace the cantrips for more meaningful, low mana cards?

#

Like giving it +2/+0 and death touch for example

tacit lotus
#

can you even give deathtouch in jeskai

lone quail
#

I’m just getting an example across the board

#

Of a replacement

tacit lotus
#

well there are cantrips that have extra utility rather than just looking at cards

#

[[enter the enigma]]

pastel stagBOT
tacit lotus
#

i would trim on some of the token generators, the discounters, and the worst removal pieces and maybe look at a storm win con

#

[[thousand year storm]] could be fun

pastel stagBOT
lone quail
#

So should I have more counter spells then single target removal, cause I kinda like [[Rewind]]

pastel stagBOT
tacit lotus
#

counters work well in a deck like this since you can hold up mana for potential threats, but if no one does anything you care about countering, you can just draw cards instead

lone quail
#

Sure. You think I should add more top deck support?

tacit lotus
#

uhhh

lone quail
#

Like [[One with the Multiverse]]

pastel stagBOT
tacit lotus
#

idk, i think your commander is good enough

#

honestly i think you just kinda durdle around too much and die in a lot of games

#

without a token maker at least

lone quail
#

I get where you are coming from. I’ll scrap the deck. Thanks for the feedback

#

Preciate you man

tacit lotus
#

also force of negation sucks in commander unless you're playing against all combo decks
