any ideas? i know there arent many shigeki players out there
If it's a lands deck, you could throw in Dark Depths and Vesuva
Have Vesuva copy Dark Depths, and then you have a free indestructible 20/20 flyer
that doesnt work
not like you think
since i have thespian stage it would work with that though
this combo results in you just junking one of your dark depths and both have their ice counters on them
im also kind of just not a lands deck
its more of a package that i was able to include in the deck
not focused on land combos too hard like most people though
No, it's a legendary land so you can only have one of them. And Vesuva won't enter with the counters on it
vesuva enters with the counters
thespian stage becomes it after its on the battlefield which means it doesnt gain the counters
but vesuva does enter the battlefield as the land you choose, just like a clone does
if you clone a creature that enters with counters then clones do enter with those counters
like [[adaptive shimmerer]]
just first thing i could search using scryfall
this looks like a super fun deck; I think I might put together something similar. I had played a [[Strong Brutish Thespian]] mono-g self mill deck that I really enjoyed. I'd love to hear the strengths and weaknesses of the deck and how it plays. offhand it looks like it's lacking in win cons, and all of the win cons seem like they're 'go wide': make a bunch of zombie tokens or ezuri's predation tokens, or rude awakening a bunch of 2/2s. dark depths is a nice idea for an evasive tall threat to finish games, though I don't love that you can't get it out of your graveyard with shigeki.
Similar cards that I used in Strong that I think could be useful here:
Locuses - [[trenchpost]] offers you another way to self-mill besides mariposa, and cloudpost and glimmerpost are good for ramp/life gain, respectively
aftermath analyst - my favorite of the splendid rec effects, because it mills on etb, and it's loopable with shifting woodlands
[[tato farmer]] - rads on land etb, and can ramp off your mill. might not be enough mill in the deck to make use of it
[[desert warfare]] and [[dune chanter]] - I'm always on the fence about this combo. separately, dune chanter gives you a bit of self mill, and desert warfare can recur deserts automatically (though you'd have to make room for some deserts in your already tight land list). together though, they make all your lands automatically come back after saccing or being milled, and give you a hasty explosive board. the combo feels a bit too cute but they can be devastating together in the right circumstances
Enchantment
Whenever you sacrifice a Desert and whenever a Desert card is put into your graveyard from your hand or library, put that card onto the battlefield under your control at the beginning of your next end step.
At the beginning of combat on your turn, if you control five or more Deserts, create that many 1/1 red, green, and white Sand Warrior creature tokens. They gain haste.
mana has been the biggest struggle, and as for wincons you dont really aim for them off the bat. winning is something you do after you are the only one with meaningful resources but it takes a lot of board management to get there. [[rude awakening]] goes infinite with shigeki and a regrowth as long as your lands produce enough mana together to make more than the loop costs
i need to work on the mana base and ramp a bit more i think. theres probably some ways i can squeeze more mana into the deck.
cloudpost is a good one
i was also thinking about the tron pieces and [[urzas workshop]]
but metalcraft is hard
