What prompted it? Did you ever get resolution?

That's hard. I don't know whether it's the person asking what sort of a person plays an exile-based removal spell or the person who forced me to concede from a game after there was MLD. (I had sagas that were going to go off the next turn that would give me back my board state and the person who wiped had no creature protection)

Your opponent can’t make you concede.

#

That just sounds like manipulation.

Telling me we all had to shuffle up and start a new game. That I was being rude to them to even suggest i could continue playing. Etc.

#

Them being the whole table

#

Then the person who had used the mld agreed with them. And the third person was like "I guess yeah"

#

So they told me the game was over.

#

Overriding me and telling me the game was over and I'd lost feels like it was telling me I'd conceded

lucid field
#

So they all conceded.

Under the rules, yes. Under the middle class "we don't want to involve people in this so just shut up and accept it" no.

#

😑

#

Those both outrank when I was told it wasn't OK for me to play a deck because it had white bordered cards.

Man, I hate white borders, but that’s just ridiculous.

#

I still need to swap the City of Brass in my Marchesa for a black border one.

To summarize:

  • He picked a Sythis deck with cheap tutors and Heliod-Ballista combo when a pod agreed to scale down for someone who had a fresh mono green precon.
  • Because of a game we played together several months ago, removed all my early nonmana plays for the first 20 minutes and ignored everyone else's, claiming it's because he was a "control deck". He never played interaction the rest of the game.
  • Begged other players to remove the cards I played afterwards because he ran out of removal and started tutoring up Heliod-Ballista combo pieces
  • Continuing to never draw removal the rest of the game, he complained about having to discard Walking Ballista to a Herald of Anguish
  • Complained about being targeted when I swung at him with a Hellkite Tyrant - no one else had artifacts except him
  • Complained about wanting to be done with the game, activated a manland to make a chump blocker when I offered to take him out and then asked the rest of the table to kill him instead
  • When other players asked if everyone was having fun, he actively insisted he wasn't. The rest of us -myself included- said we were, despite his constant complaints.
  • After he was removed, he got up and told the table "it's no one's fault, this just isn't my game" while repeatedly pointing behind my head for several minutes with other backhanded comments. (The rest of the table told me once he left. It says something that the rest of the table kept being made uncomfortable by his behavior.)
  • Two months later he showed keeping the grudge alive, trying to claim I lied in the r0 conversation about running any mana rocks after I said Sol Ring was the only piece of fast mana and I played a Talisman of Conviction.
  • Bonus: he then insisted I was trying to bully him by playing a Subterranean Tremors on X=4 to stop an Elsha pilot with t1 Sol Ring + Signet + top, while he was on Animar with a dork and two lands.

Genuinely the most ill-willed individual I've interacted with.

Early days when locust got had just come out figure 2 weeks after street release. Block head showed up, in a quick pregame discussion they misrepresented power, talking crypt and vault with a tutor into wheel of fate. Game ended fast but they wanted another game, we all played again.

Somehow the bloke had a turn one sol ring and the table proceeded pact of negate the sol ring 🤣

The biggest encouragement that it’s not just my relative perception is that he consistently has made the rest of randomized pods at the LGS uncomfortable when he acts up.

#

“Maybe its me” would only be passable if the rest of the group was unbothered.

I think for me it was absolutely the guy who made a "Slavery themed" deck. But I think I told that story already.

Oh yeah, I never shared mine. I was playing on Spelltable one time. A guy joins the lobby, and he’s playing K&T of Meletis. Starts out as a group hug deck. I’m not the biggest fan, but sure, go ahead. Later in the game, he tries to resolve a Scrambleverse. On spelltable. I legitimately spent ten minutes talking him out of it, and he was acting dumb and wondering why we were all mad at him. Thankfully, it worked. However, later in the game, this prick tries to resolve a Shared Fate as if nothing had happened earlier. I called him many things I shouldn’t have and left the lobby.

#

Seriously, Spelltable players are the worst.

#

The people who can’t be assed to angle their camera to show their board are the least of it.

Honestly, my first commander game with my own deck ever almost made me quit right on the spot. I was playing Lyzolda, the Blood Witch and had her and Manaforge Cinder on the field, with some open mana.

Kaalia player drops Kaalia, and moves to equip Lightning Greaves. In response I sacrifice my Cinder to snipe her out of the sky. The table immediately dogpiled me for being the "first aggressor" and Kaalia proceeded to take an easy win as she was allowed to land the second time, cheated out Avacyn and dropped Armageddon.

It was still all my fault, of course.

I think you did what anyone with sense would've done. I imagine the others were friends of Kaalia player

Oof that's rough. Probably the guy who had a anime girl deck box and playmat and reassured me he was cool w/ trans folks. He didn't do anything transphobic but the entire game he kept trying to defend me w/ his interaction and keep people from attacking me?

#

Like, he was going out of his way to defend me in the game and I didn't need defending. Momma's machines were out for blood.

#

I never got resolution over it but I was told by someone he's really questionable with ANY femme guests and... I don't pass, to put it bluntly. So it was oddly reaffirming in a weird and creepy and sexist way. :/

#

I never got any resolution and just don't play with him

tall oriole
#

That feels like someone who's just very bad at social interaction and very keenly aware of faults and trying to overcompensate for them

civic violet
#

It does. Which is why I didn't like. Call him out or otherwise do something about it/confront him. I just. Chose to avoid the conflict

#

Cuz it was really realyl weird and clearly he was trying but also was just... It felt kinnda gross in some ways
