#(6-9-23) Tell me something about your favorite commander that nobody (or almost nobody) else knows.

I mean, idk about knows, but Tawnos, Solemn Survivor and Ashnod, Flesh Mechanist are pretty rare
4% of [[Nazahn, Revered Bladesmith]] decklists on EDHRec do not run Hammer of Nazahn.
Legendary Creature — Cat Artificer
When Nazahn, Revered Bladesmith enters the battlefield, search your library for an Equipment card and reveal it. If you reveal a card named Hammer of Nazahn this way, put it onto the battlefield. Otherwise, put that card into your hand. Then shuffle.
Whenever an equipped creature you control attacks, you may tap target creature defending player controls.

Lol
For [[Odric Lunarch Marshal]], his ability works on Every combat step, not just yours. Not only is it one of the most underutilized portions of his ability, its one the secret for success in my Sisay deck.
Legendary Creature — Human Soldier
At the beginning of each combat, creatures you control gain first strike until end of turn if a creature you control has first strike. The same is true for flying, deathtouch, double strike, haste, hexproof, indestructible, lifelink, menace, reach, skulk, trample, and vigilance.

Secret tech
[[!Marchesa the black rose]] brings herself back with her ability
I’m sure some people know this, but I’ve had to cover it a few times
As a bonus, [[!braids arisen nightmare]] is EXCELLENT with cards like [[!midnight oil]]
A lot of people don't realize that [[Rakdos Lord of Riots]] counts the life lost before it was cast that turn.
She makes a bunch of the “instant benefit at a price” cards very usable
Not many Kitt Kanto players seem to play [[Scaretiller]] who goes kinda nutty with fetchlands and her, but even moreso if you got [[Reckless Racer]] or its near functional reprint Hangar Scrounger. Getting those two out together is a case of Ha Ha Lands Go BRRRRRRR.
Let alone if Drumbellower or Seedborn Muse join the party.
well if you ask my playgroup, it’s that [[Surrak Dragonclaw]] doesn’t have trample lmao
Do you have a list up for Ashnod? I built her recently and I'm curious to see how you took it.
[[Valiant changeling]] in Orah...
This card is VERY often 1-2 mana and thanks to Orah will bring back anyone even Mikaeus
[[Jolrael, Voice of Zhalfir]] exists.
Land creatures is a deck that's seem dribs and drabs of support since BFZ but it's such a fun archetype that produces really wierd and interesting gameplay because of the inherent risk/reward of throwing your resources at your opponent
But I've never seen anyone else play it
Legendary Creature — Human Druid
At the beginning of combat on your turn, up to one target land you control becomes an X/X green and blue Bird creature with flying and haste until end of turn, where X is the number of cards in your hand. It's still a land.
Whenever a land creature you control deals combat damage to a player, draw a card.

[[Niv-Mizzet, Reborn]] needs to be built around the color distributions in order to sculpt how many cards you're going to be getting.
Legendary Creature — Dragon Avatar
Flying
When Niv-Mizzet Reborn enters the battlefield, reveal the top ten cards of your library. For each color pair, choose a card that's exactly those colors from among them. Put the chosen cards into your hand and the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.

I’ve never ran into another [[dreadhorde champion]] player
The card is just absurd
I went Voltron with it. Still trying to find the right balance of stuff, but the deck has popped off a few times. New treats in LOTR, and I really want Lucille.
This is what I built. It's definitely not going Voltron and is instead trying to ramp out some big artifacts I had. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/pjfE0W_0QUCplBB4CNILKQ
I thought about doing voltron, and it makes a lot of sense, my hope of ghirapur is along similar lines
Mmm, checks out. I used to run more big artifacts but have just leaned further and further into Voltron.
I have like 9 power stone tokens and it's not always enough
I just use 2 with a spindown for each and have one to represent tapped and one untapped.
Fair. I just had fun collecting as many as I could
It's because I have a box for tokens so it limits how many I can bring
I need to put transmogrant's crown in the list though. I realized how good it is with Ashnod vs skullclamp
Since a lot of the things I want to sacrifice are 1 toughness it at least means they're allive at the combat step
1 card + 1 powerstone is pretty good.
Is that a charcoal sketch?
Stylistically. I was at Magic Con Minneapolis and no one had a power stone so I went with Aaron Millers colorless mana token and had him label it.
Makes sense!
I never saw someone playing [[mayael the anima]]
I take it you are newer to edh?
That card was a monster at one point...
I play edh since before 2010... 😁 Mayael is my third oldest deck. But i never encounter someone playing her in my different play groups.
she's fallen out of favor, but she was really popular before, like, 2017
Legitimately if I could ban any card due to edh trauma it's Mayael
Is it ban worthy? No. But I still have post RotE flashbacks.
I understand that. However, I never play any eldrazi in my decks so I don't have the same trauma 😉
Is it a hot take nowadays to say that Eldrazi cheatyface is boring as hell?
I’ve thought it was for years
Eldrazi Cheatyface?
less to cast for each 1 life your opponents have lost this turn.
.
. Until end of turn, you don't lose this mana as steps and phases end.

: Look at the top five cards of your library. You may put a creature card with power 5 or greater from among them onto the battlefield. Put the rest on the bottom of your library in any order.
