Anyway, took a first pass at [[gimbal, gremlin prodigy]]
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Ca-3CVPyPEe2OfTuLI4ahg
Legendary Creature β Gremlin Artificer
Artifact creatures you control have trample.
At the beginning of your end step, create a 0/0 red Gremlin artifact creature token. Put X +1/+1 counters on it, where X is the number of differently named artifact tokens you control.
You are what you eat, and everything he'd eaten was brilliant.
4/4
there's a spot for Phyrexian Sharknado but it's not on moxfield yet
particularly interested in spicier veggie cards (ramp, removal, card draw)
I also didn't want to include too much +1 counter chicanery, since both Optimus Prime and my [[bright palm]] draft will both have a lot more +1 counter shenanigans
Legendary Creature β Fox Shaman
Backup 1 (When this creature enters the battlefield, put a +1/+1 counter on target creature. If that's another creature, it gains the following ability until end of turn.)
Whenever this creature attacks, double the number of +1/+1 counters on target creature. That creature can't be blocked by creatures with power 2 or less this turn.
4/3
@sick swallow you asked to see this, first pass at Naya Arcbound stuff
[[Oviya Pashiri]]?
She could be good in the list π€
Looks solid so far! Why Blightsteel?
Indestructible artifact creatures
If thereβs a board wipe all the counters just go away
I'd answer board wipes with something like Flawless Maneuver, Heroic Intervention, Eldrazi Monument, etc -- how often will you manage to get 11 mana before the board wipe occurs?
It can happen! But thatβs a good note. I DO want my arcbound stuff to die at some point
Probably add a couple more sac outlets too π€
I adore Eldrazi Monument, as a combination sac outlet and board protection
What are your thoughts on [[Replicating Ring]] here?
I do like ring personally, although I wonder how often itβll pop without proliferate support
I agree with Punderdome. I'm all about "off the beaten path" veggie cards, but I'm not sure how often the replicating part will be relevant without some heavy proliferate support
would love to be able to play [[inexorable tide here]], but arcbound stuff already didn't pass muster in Optimus Prime π
Could run [[Cathars' Crusade]] if you're okay with a tracking nightmare
Enchantment
Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control, put a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control.
Avacyn's holy warriors kept hope alive in her darkest hours. Now they will carry that hope across Innistrad.
In temur?
Caddyshack (1980) clip with quote I'm a veg, Danny.
Yarn is the best search for video clips by quote.
Find the exact moment in a TV show, movie, or music video you want to share.
Easily move forward or backward to get to the perfect clip.
? (and yes somehow I'm 42 and never have seen Caddyshack, even if I recognize it that's my only context)
Well
The arcbound deck is naya π
And the deck is already a tracking nightmare lmao
I mean, that would do it. I appreciate my migraine being gone.
Oh, how is the 5c omnath going?
Havenβt really started yet. I wanna build it with a friend and sheβs mostly been preoccupied this week
first pass
Thank you!
Looking for two cuts for [[Dihada binder of wills]] and [[skeleton shard]]
Legendary Planeswalker β Dihada
+2: Up to one target legendary creature gains vigilance, lifelink, and indestructible until your next turn.
β3: Reveal the top four cards of your library. Put any number of legendary cards from among them into your hand and the rest into your graveyard. Create a Treasure token for each card put into your graveyard this way.
β11: Gain control of all nonland permanents until end of turn. Untap them. They gain haste until end of turn.
Dihada, Binder of Wills can be your commander.
Loyalty: 5
How much do you love Sorin here?
You lose the damage on the + but you get the Dihada keywords.
I like Sorin for the +1, having a bit of density of that effect is really good. Happy to compare with other potential cuts but he does also cost 6 π
Yeah, it's a trade off
okay I'm looking at Phyrexian Fleshgorger and Wire Surgeons for cuts
Looking at adding [[!legion loyalty]] to urza https://www.moxfield.com/decks/a_6-7niqe0OygM3nX9qRcw
oof, yeah, that seems BRUTAL with Karnstructs
Right??? Triple karnstructs each combat, plus any other incidental artifact creatures
I didn't realize that Legion Loyalty also duplicated tokens
SURE DOES
Cutting cloud key for loyalty. Someone pointed out how many cost reducers I have π€£
What did you swap out for it in the end?
Cloud key
Yeah, that seems like a good swap for sure.
I swear the one clarifying line wasn't there when I posted before though it clearly was. π©
No worries π€£π€£
updated arcbound draft
@sick swallow thoughts on [[slobad goblin tinker]] for this?
Lemme take a look in a few
take your time. Not gonna build it in paper until after Minnie π
I think that OG Slobad is a fantastic idea here, yeah.
Instant-speed artifact sac outlet, and lets you do the most critical thing: protect at least one artifact to receive the counters during a board wipe instead of losing them all
I mean, I'd run him after KCI
I also made some pretty intense structural changes to the deck. Took out some of the less impactful fiddly counters-matter cards for some more graveyard chicanery
But he'd probably be my second choice for sac outlet
yeah the deck probably wants something like KCI
Descent into avernus and/or smothering tithe too (I have extras of both lying around π€£ )
KCI is just absolutely absurd with Treasure tokens, too
"I'll make 4 treasures and turn them into Ugin" lol
Or Arcbound Overseer, in your case
yeahhhhhh I just ordered one for my [[gimbal]] deck
Legendary Creature β Gremlin Artificer
Artifact creatures you control have trample.
At the beginning of your end step, create a 0/0 red Gremlin artifact creature token. Put X +1/+1 counters on it, where X is the number of differently named artifact tokens you control.
You are what you eat, and everything he'd eaten was brilliant.
4/4
I have high expectations there
on the one hand, I'm really excited about the potential combo nature of this deck. Feels a lot like blanka but with a massive re-skin
But it's also really clunky and awkward, and early playtests indicate I have to mulligan really hard
@vagrant current zabaz would probably be a cleaner deck but Shalai and hallar is a good payoff in the command zone
Makes sense. And there's a lot of green +1/+1 counter support
True facts
All them hardened scales
first pass at indoraptor, in the market for constructive feedback π
[[the Ozolith]] - was it out of sight on the first pass?
Also, I have a friend in an IRL playgroup that plays doomweaver (Thantis as commander tho) which also plays [[thundering mightmare]] so maybe that would work here too
Legendary Artifact
Whenever a creature you control leaves the battlefield, if it had counters on it, put those counters on The Ozolith.
At the beginning of combat on your turn, if The Ozolith has counters on it, you may move all counters from The Ozolith onto target creature.
As it twists, so does all life around it.
Creature β Horse Spirit
Soulbond (You may pair this creature with another unpaired creature when either enters the battlefield. They remain paired for as long as you control both of them.)
As long as Thundering Mightmare is paired with another creature, each of those creatures has "Whenever an opponent casts a spell, put a +1/+1 counter on this creature."
3/3
did not think of either of those on the first pass!
was mostly focused on initial setup of the bloodthirst counters
That makes sense
Early draft of Baylen, specifically caring about noncreature tokens (and trying to not make it a treasure deck)
I have a suggestion that's a (hopefully) fun non-treasure specific suggestion for an inclusion. [[sarinth steelseeker]]
Creature β Human Artificer Scout
Whenever an artifact enters the battlefield under your control, look at the top card of your library. If it's a land card, you may reveal it and put it into your hand. If you don't put the card into your hand, you may put it into your graveyard.
"This metal junk is ugly, but it's got its uses."
1/2
I'm interested in seeing where your list goes though!
Very into that! π
[[junktown]] and [[Roxanne, Starfall Savant]] possibly
Legendary Creature β Cat Druid
Whenever Roxanne, Starfall Savant enters the battlefield or attacks, create a tapped colorless artifact token named Meteorite with "When Meteorite enters the battlefield, it deals 2 damage to any target" and "
: Add one mana of any color."
Whenever you tap an artifact token for mana, add one mana of any type that artifact token produced.
4/3
First draft is up to 100 cards!
Only creature tokens (I think) are from farmer cotton but heβs so good he gets a pass
I like it but I'm wondering if [[Rose|PIP]] may make more sense in this and also trying to find a suggested cut.
Legendary Artifact Creature β Robot
First strike
Raid β At end of combat on your turn, if you attacked this turn, create a Junk token for each opponent you attacked. (It's an artifact with "
, Sacrifice this artifact: Exile the top card of your library. You may play that card this turn. Activate only as a sorcery.")
Whenever you sacrifice a Junk, add
.
3/2
Ah, the gamechanger reference that this commander will not escape
It's just too accurate π
I wish I could suggest [[primal growth]] but I also can't figure out a suggested cut so I'll just mention it
Sorcery
KickerβSacrifice a creature. (You may sacrifice a creature in addition to any other costs as you cast this spell.)
Search your library for a basic land card, put that card onto the battlefield, then shuffle. If this spell was kicked, instead search your library for up to two basic land cards, put them onto the battlefield, then shuffle.
Fuck youre right
I was shocked the deck didn't have it in it
I've been struggling to brew at all for a while, getting a list from scratch up to 100 cards is a feat by itself π«
I know that feeling honestly
I don't know if Yuma works here outside of the enters/attacks trigger?
That's what he's for
Ok! I built my yuma deck around him casting for wrg so I think my brain is stuck on wanting to cut the cost
Youβve gotta s-toph with these puns!
If the deck is humming i dont expect paying 5rwg to be a problem π
Someone else came up with the deck name!
It was toph-reaking clever
[[Gurmag Angler]] would be cool but the list doesn't seem to have a lot to delve away for it
Delve would be sick here actually
Stuff dies incidentally all the time in magic. Shouldn't have to force it too much
B and 6 cards from the bin to draw 7 and put a 7 or less MV thing from hand
I also have an Emrakul the Promised End that would probably fuck pretty hard here
Totally forgot about her lmao
This list came together really fast
And I'm including perfect art choices in that
gotta start somewhere! Still only calling it a draft π
I'll be cold in the ground before I include a planeswalker stamped card π€
I mean, some of the default art choices in moxfield have it and I have to change it π
it's a compulsion
Ahh
I meant to ask you, have you had a chance to try your Aloy list on your Moxfield?
I haven't yet, hoping to try it tonight
My husband and I made a list quickly yesterday. He played it last night and is sort of working on tuning it. So I'm curious how yours goes when you do
I liked [[wash out]] as an inclusion in yours
And I don't know why we didn't include [[garruk's uprising]]
Enchantment
When this enchantment enters, if you control a creature with power 4 or greater, draw a card.
Creatures you control have trample. (Each of those creatures can deal excess combat damage to the player or planeswalker it's attacking.)
Whenever a creature you control with power 4 or greater enters, draw a card.
Does he have a list on moxfield so we can compare notes?
So is mine, please believe
He said he's (in retrospect) surprised at how we managed to make something comparatively fair between the two of us where we also had a lot of flavor choices in it
[[the aetherspark]] is supposed to be the focus for example
Legendary Artifact Planeswalker β Equipment
As long as The Aetherspark is attached to a creature, The Aetherspark can't be attacked and has "Whenever equipped creature deals combat damage during your turn, put that many loyalty counters on The Aetherspark."
+1: Attach The Aetherspark to up to one target creature you control. Put a +1/+1 counter on that creature.
β5: Draw two cards.
β10: Add ten mana of any one color.
Loyalty: 4
the transmuter is partially because we couldn't find an Oviya [[oviya|dft]]
But it rebuys etbs
Damn I'm a dummy, I just realized [[toph metalbender]] is busted in my [[shalai & hallar]][[arcbound worker]] deck
Legendary Creature β Human Warrior Ally
Nontoken artifacts you control are lands in addition to their other types. (They don't gain the ability to
for mana.)
At the beginning of your end step, earthbend 2. (Target land you control becomes a 0/0 creature with haste that's still a land. Put two +1/+1 counters on it. When it dies or is exiled, return it to the battlefield tapped.)
3/3
Yeah, that really will be!
I know you just got your Jaws stuff so I'm also going to be curious to know how your deck plays. I was surprised at how much your list and my first draft differ (31 of the 46 overlap are mountains)
there's a few cards in your list that I do love. And a couple that might actually have in my list that just aren't on moxfield yet π€£
spectacular showdown is one of my favorite cards, but Jaws feels like it wants to be a bit more streamlined
(I use showdown as a weird insurrection variant rather than "target creature gains double strike exactly")
Yeah, I could tell with my list that a lot of time I was going to be casting it for 2 mana instead of the overloaded cost
And I did last night. I goaded a 17/17 mana gorger hydra
I meant to have a depthshaker and I just couldn't find mine
Tezzeret in Jaws is absurd
I played it, hit with Bruce to make 5 blood and just ultimated him
oooo I believe it
honestly that Tezz just hasn't clicked with me at all π
I like your trailblazer's boots tho π
I'm only running 21 creatures, so ways to just passively build up a board felt huge
Those won me at least one game last night
That was my husband's suggestion
[[combustion man]] was very funny
making him unblockable is v good
You also don't have to target something controlled by the person you're attacking
So you can just start hitting two people with him
ooooo that's sweet
I need to marinate with the avatar set
the mechanics are sweet but I have no idea what any of the cards do π
Combustion Man just seemed pretty clear what he did. π
Also I've internally created the classification of a "Bruce" which is an aggressive red legendary, often 3RR
nice, I love "bruce" batching π
@elfin pecan I am literally brewing a jeskai god deck π
I feel like we got the same secret lairs
Horizon, God of war (jeskai); jaws; and I got the charity play dough one
Yeah, we got those. Also got the ghost one though
I'm still so disappointed they didn't give tokens with the Play-doh
Aang, Destined Savior
Legendary Creature β Avatar Ally
Flying
Land creatures you control have vigilance.
At the beginning of combat on your turn, earthbend 2. (Target land you control becomes a 0/0 creature with haste that's still a land. Put two +1/+1 counters on it. When it dies or is exiled, return it to the battlefield tapped.)
4/4
That's currently the plan
I'm at like 5% of a list so far π
It's one I think I could snap a list together pretty quickly but I also think it has a lot of ways you can build it
I've seen a handful of folks do a clone package, and I get it, but it feels like a hat on a hat
I wanna do the manlands bit
The clone package is just a gyruda list
Amy the Amazonian's brawl list is basically that
This is my brainstorm without enough interaction: https://moxfield.com/decks/UWvfj0Dr-0-uiclzxXbQxA
I'm taking some notes on this
But also 53 lands is wild; even if some are meant to be "creatures" π
Yep, I know. It should have lumra or mass land reanimation in it and I got distracted
I appreciate the jump start π
[[Dyadrine]] is the one I'm kind of proud of here
Legendary Artifact Creature β Construct
Trample
Dyadrine enters with a number of +1/+1 counters on it equal to the amount of mana spent to cast it.
Whenever you attack, you may remove a +1/+1 counter from each of two creatures you control. If you do, draw a card and create a 2/2 colorless Robot artifact creature token.
0/1
Big fan of that and cloud
I definitely want one or both kyoshis in the deck π
That's what my husband said
I also just put in all relevant lands to cut them out
Figured it was better to cut those than other stuff first
I figured it out π
But yeah, they become 0/0s when they get bent so [[terrasymbiosis]] should mean you draw 2 on first combat
@old dove got to a serviceable draft I think
@pallid smelt I made a lands deck with zero "searching" π
no idea how "good" it is but I thought you'd be interested
I know @full swan also made one of those!
from my experience with Aang at prerelease he is definitly a strong choice for commander for that idea
Aang is really fcking strong
this does look like an interesting deck
Every deck Iβve made over the last few months π
Galadriel is still the "best" of the no-tutor lands commanders I've seen
Lumra is one I'm fairly sure would be, but haven't seen it structured that way
Thank you for saying that!
It probably could have been toph, but I'm tickled about playing collonnade and other proper manlands
XP counter toph lol
Toph is probably stronger but would play so different thent his
artifact slob kinda takes over
also ik its probably because of AI bros, but i find it funny that slo-p is blocked here
XP counter toph is funny but it being monogreen is very limiting
It was more bc of the "commander players are pigs who eat slop" post lol
ah makes sense
we had to do the same with the "Creeper Aw Man" meme a few years ago
I put together that list when she was first previewed, but I think I'm happy to have her be a role player in my shalai & halar arcbound worker deck
I dont need "strong" decks I need to hit someone in the face with cave of the frost dragon π€£
I feel this way about most "busted commanders"
they are so much more fun in the 99 of a deck
simply cause its not happening every game and your opponents actually feel like they can do something against it
Interesting story tension in the game >>>>>>>>
Yeah I use those like how some people do "bomb typal" in battlecruiser
like this "now I am the captain" moment
I supported the block because people were just using it as inflammtory shorthand
The more I play the more I also subscribe to the ideology of intentional weakpoints in lists
Like my Frodo/Sam deck has no reanimation spells in it cause i feel like if you managed to stop the onslaught of small dudes trying to run you over that should feel like a a real achievement and not something that gets ripped away under your feet next turn
Which Toph are you talking about though?
Blocks like that are necessary every so often, just always funny and wierd to stumble over them at a later date
3 mana toph
the one that makes artifacts into lands
Artifact one suggests Naya but the two gruul ones
I've played against the scene box one and it is punishing. The set Gruul Toph ratchets up very quickly as you optimize the spells
The mainset Gruul Toph feels very hard to deal with
the sceene commanders sind alle cool aber relative fine
Scene Toph is sort of like Jetmir based on playing against her
Double strike often just ends the game and removing her just means she brings something bigger next time.
Jetmir is one of those commanders i have learned to love in the 99
I put it in the Rin&Seri deck for my friend and it is by far the most used and best wincon he has in that deck but it doesnt feel frustrating to play again
st
But [[toph, hardheaded teacher]] is possibly the one that freaks me out the most because it optimizes in a different way than my brain works
Legendary Creature β Human Warrior Ally
When Toph enters, you may discard a card. If you do, return target instant or sorcery card from your graveyard to your hand.
Whenever you cast a spell, earthbend 1. If that spell is a Lesson, put an additional +1/+1 counter on that land. (Target land you control becomes a 0/0 creature with haste that's still a land. Put a +1/+1 counter on it. When it dies or is exiled, return it to the battlefield tapped.)
3/4
also i realised i went full Denglish there just mixing german and english in that sentence
Yeah, I worked it out. Thanks family members who spoke German randomly (who all came to the US in the 1800s)
She is so scary
Sorry @silk breach we can move if you want
I do wonder how viable an Amulet Earthbend build would be
Like Amulet and Spelunking
Less earthbending and more generic "lots of taplands" but i definitely got self conscious about this in my manlands deck π€£
I do think Amulet decks can be interesting
but you do really have to pay attention that you just dont turn into aristocrats with extra steps
I think that's at least difficult outside of B even with the general conceit of earthbending
You'd almost need to start focusing on the airbending/earthbending hybrid
The one with like [[monk gyatso]] airbending animated lands
Legendary Creature β Human Monk
Whenever another creature you control becomes the target of a spell or ability, you may airbend that creature. (Exile it. While it's exiled, its owner may cast it for
rather than its mana cost.)
"My ancient cake-making technique isn't the only thing on your mind, is it, Aang?"
3/3
Monk Gyatso is stronger then people think imo
He's like displacer kitten
I dont think so, like if you take Hardened Teacher + Zulan Orb you are already nearly there
[[hardened teacher]]
No card found for βhardened teacherβ
the gruul toph
Right
Guy at my lgs said he wanted to make an airbending / drannith magistrate deck and my first thought was "oh you were homeschooled / an only child" π
Nah
that kind of evil machenations is only born out of trying to stick it to your siblings
Regardless. Something something 12 foot pole
Nelly is the only card in here I don't like
Love the Lightnin inclusion
got a rec to replace Nelly?
[[Oviya|dft]]?
LOOK AT MY HORSE (deck)
There are 2 ferropede in there
Rip. Thanks for catching π
Didnt know this existed
Gathered dust for a while lol
Lol
Carson has a new deck!
Ah, Ziatora, the "surely this jund sacrifice dragon won't be a problem"
Thoughts on the new trudge here?
[[Slumbering trudge]]
Creature β Plant Beast
This creature enters with a number of stun counters on it equal to three minus X. If X is 2 or less, it enters tapped. (If a permanent with a stun counter would become untapped, remove one from it instead.)
"Yes, she is blocking the path. Are you volunteering to move her?" βTam, to Kirol
6/6
It's just a high power creature that can also be grabbed by some of the reanimation effects
But the stun counters may be too big of a problem
Huge fan. Exactly what I'm looking for
Great! I know sometimes it coming in tapped is a problem but didn't know if it was in this case for you.
