If you can get ways to discard you can use [[Riftstone Portal]] to make it generate colors. Also usually Colorless is not a bad deal if you just dump it into the generic cost of things.
There is also [[Oran-Rief, the Vastwood]] and [[Novijen, Heart of Progress]]

As for Obscure cards. One thing I liked using was [[Afiya Grove]] not really good but I like the flavor of using old cards in new decks.
