there's a size requirement for shoulder attaching but that's about it (and it can be circumvented if you change size while riding, likely wontfix)

the good news is: a doll is a synthetic thing that doesn't need food!* or air, or warmth.
the bad news is: all that heart can't fit in such a tiny doll :( also, you're gonna want a weapon if you want to be hurting anything
* (well, it's still the same stuff in the code. but i love dolls, so every time you repair yourself you get full saturation and six ethereal hearts! <3)

the doll renaming is very much not a nickname mod and only the above head nametag 'cause i didn't want to deal with all the nickname mod stuff, but it would definitely make sense as a full nickname thing
and yeah seems important to be able to see what others are naming you if you want. don't want a kick me sign or worse

still have to use one of the 3 dollcraft items
eventually i'll figure out doing these things in a more friendly way. familiar magic's curses are in the same boat

this still doesn't let you control dogs like horses, though. you're just along for the ride.

one final treat for all the dolls in the fest - i've backported would you be a doll? to 1.21.1! as far as i can tell it's completely intact, aside from a single sound lost that shouldn't ever be heard anyway.
