Maybe in later in seasons i thought it would be great if u could choose your favourite ruleset and it u can play different ruleset from others. Kinda like call of duty loadout where u choose ur gun before u start a match so someone who prefers s1 can play and someone prefers s2 can play different ruleset from ur opponent

my first reading of this made it seem like smash ultimate preferred rules
where you choose a ruleset to queue into
...the issue being that if there aren't enough ppl with the same ruleset you'll play against ppl with a different ruleset to you
which is a very jank and disliked system that they eventually had to tone down a ton lmao
