#Supported controllers arbitrarily being detected as "unknown" to tetr.io

It has worked in the past though it has been a while. Not sure exactly what has changed since
Edit: it seems this is caused by multiple controller connections.
Weird that all subsequent connections are detected but treated as "unknown" though
especially considering that as far as i know tetr.io only cares about whatever controller's in "port 1"
were you using windows 10?
11
hmm, someone else
and they were using an xbox controller, which should absolutely be understood
this is one of those things that probably isn't that different between the OS
yeah i find it hard to rule out that their computer isn't borked lol
my main controller is a third party but officially licensed xbox controller
i have two from the same vendor (different models
a switch pro controller
and an 8bitDo SN20
though i havent tested that one on account of not being able to find it
actually though
The one im using now is always being identified as "unknown"
even when its the only one
im pretty sure it used to say it was an xbox controller
As long as its the only thing connected though, it works
considering how this is detected i don't know how that could break unless a firmware update literally rewrote its device descriptor
though im pretty sure this thing can be updated i dont think ive ever downloaded an update for it
i could check and see
eh, windows probably messes around with this on device initialization as well
messing around with this
first time ive ever seen this
when i unplugged the one i was using
i had completely removed my tablet and vjoy device from device manager, didnt work
and steam was closed
yeah ultimately you should be able to bind it anyways
random tangent
do you think setting the dpad to 4 way
would help with the issues ive talked about in the past
ok the xbox controller works on the browser version
i don't recognize whatever that software is, let alone what 4 way dpad implicates lol
means it won't register diagonals i.e. pressing up/eft or up/right at the same time

kinda maybe. but potentially irritating to keep changing it
@ripe shale you know wh at i think it does

i tried a bunch of times a few hours ago
wasnt coming close
i just randomly did this out of nowhere
not even a tiny improvement lol
but 1.2 sec o.O

interesting to hear it works on win11
i feel like that one's about the controller literally not appearing in any condition
if their solution was to just map it to keyboard controls anyways
this one's about the
popup
hmm they also have controller working on browser
its something that not working on browser or desktop. Failing to even detect the controller
if that's a problem it eventually wont be much of an issue with hard dropping
second
if a controller is listed as "unknown", it simply means the controller isnt listed in the game's internal vendor/product id database
"xbox controller" will generally show up for all controllers that use xinput on windows
what controller are you using that shows up as unknown?
nacon RIG Pro Compact the one im mainly using. I have another one from them thats full size, revolution X or something like that. It occured to me it actually has a switch on it to be directInput or Xinput
i misplaced hte cable for it though so I can't check what it says in each switch state
However as I noted earlier, it said "unknown" when i connected th e switch controller with the pro compact already connected
but when it was the only controller connected, it identified it as a switch controller
i'm having this issue right now. my xbox controller is being detected as "unknown controller connected" and doesn't detect its inputs
