#add @ handles to tetrio

I don't see any reason why
he has a true
isnt it already disallowed to use unicode shits
you can only use basic things like - _ or whatever
and that still makes sense to be not different by the handle's format
and yeah there's no interesting point to make it since usernames already never duplicate
nvm i got the wrong point
ok so this is more like "add display name which can be duplicated and funny unicodes can be used"
i love how it confuses people
yeah i dunno i don't really like this idea
I can understand why someone would request this but it seems unnecessary
i do technically want to impl this, but itll only be used for changing capitalization sorrie
aside from not liking it theres technical reasons to not allow arbitrary unicode in usernames
indecipheralble-mess-of-pixels names are cringe
I would love to be able to change my display to uppercase (because font sucks (lowercase L and uppercase I)) but TETR.IO already uppercase everything so lol
uppercased hundin = wider
Oh yeah forgot about that
mixed caps and hundin do not mix
if it stayed as hundin i would cringe looking at practically everyone's usernames lol
ye
ngl i think changing display names using upper+lower is better than what i suggested (lifting unicode rule)
Oh yeah its terrible
At least its not like youtube live lol
lol
I'd rather take the TTV route of only case-change once you choose your nickname tbh and seems like OP agrees as well
Years of using variations on Flood looks a little odd once I got to all caps
Because Flood is an elusive username to get in the first place lmfao
I wouldn't have the underscore in my name if I didn't have trouble
Overtime it's become my identity as "Flood_" rather than just Flood or other variations when I started solidifying my usernames across platforms (some still don't reflect that for reasons) (and even then, HD ends up in my name because "Flood_" is also taken in a lot of places)
Just contact support
Or something
???
This isn't an issue necessarily tied to TETR.IO
And even if it was, the response 99/100 of times would be "get here faster lol"
huh? we're known for a semi-generous usurp policy
https://ch.tetr.io/u/flood has 106 minutes of gameplay, which i guess is better than most, but at the same time, when we see that a user hasn't even logged in since country flags were implemented, it's a lot more likely that we'll remove it for you
Track FLOOD and other players' progress and achievements on TETRA CHANNEL - the official companion site to TETR.IO, the modern yet familiar online stacker.
regardless it's probably better to keep a consistent identity across platforms and i understand how getting super simplified on tetr.io specifically gets to be annoying lol
(people constantly lookup https://ch.tetr.io/u/zaptorzap and then ask me who i am because zaptorzap doesn't exist
)

wait what's your tetrio username
Eh, it's not really an issue for me trying to take instances of Flood anymore anways; my identity's shifted more to Flood_ anyways so it's fine with me lol.
I guess it's my encounters outside of TRTR.IO that make me assume it's usually the case I mentioned where you were too late to claim your name and the best you can do is wait for the name to be unclaimed (usually doesn't happen)
But that's besides the point, I'll be waiting for the time I can change the caps in my name
what did i miss

rare sighting of wupdate used in the wild
as for actual input i think what osk suggested sounds like the better option, being able to just change your capitalisation like on twitch

That's why the redesign will use Tenken as TETR.IO's new main font (the one used in "0:13.650" and "New 40 Lines world champion across all stacker games!")
yup
