#tetrio freezes after tabbing out

tetr.io desktop?
i know there's random freezing issue at the first run with desktop version
I do suffer with the same issue, however I think this is an issue with T+ and not the desktop app itself. If you have T+ installed, try recreating the freeze with T+ turned off
I dont have T+ I think its just the first rub issue
Alright, I have no idea what is causing the freeze then
It's a browser issue. When in a match, tabbing out of TETR.IO for 15 seconds or more disconnects you.
nah the visuals being frozen is another electron related issue entirely
I suffer the same issue and I don’t have tetrio plus
Ah okay
Hope it gets fixed soon
it might be fixed with a sweeping change that's planned for desktop, but we'll have to see
the last time electron itself was updated this issue was actually way way worse (it led to an emergency patch on christmas to roll it back)
I've had this issue for the longest time. The most common cause is usually a CPU cap. Sometimes a reboot fixes this but not 100%. It might resolve on its own but it's usually recommended to just reboot your computer.
The best recommendation is probably just maintaining a good connection, checking temps, checking CPU usage and not getting any caps on either GPU or CPU
Otherwise, it will freeze the game's visuals and make it unbearable
Outside of a CPU/GPU cap, not sure on that. Will research on this a bit more if I can replicate this on desktop
Def needs a fix, thought it was a tetrio plus issue but when tabbing out and back in with tetrio using desktop client my game would freeze but still respond (can hear piece noises and sounds etc), pretty annoying when in tetra league but I guess just don’t tab out lol
Yeah. This issue can be annoying. Especially when the game caps your CPU/GPU
Happens to me sometimes, as well. And to my trouble, I find the client frozen after getting freshly matched with an opponent, also forcing some forfeits I wished I could knowingly avoid. What I saw happening is that having Discord open (and its windows visible - either of the app or a browser windows) does increase chances of such an UI freeze.
That's also what I found as well. Maybe some coding from Discord affects Tetrio's code
mmm i got more specific condition: swapping to another virtual desktop
^ just see the start and the end
- still only happens on the first run
oh yeah sorry i forgot i have tetrio plus....
lemme recreate the error without it
uuuuuuh it doesn't freeze again restart
i mean freezing was not always happened so
have to keep eye on
I have this issue a lot too if Ive been tabbed out for a while
very annoying cuz its just an instant loss since I cant do anything except alt f4 and cry if Ive accidentally joined the queue witout realising whats going on
same
yeah
this doesn't work though it opens devtools
since the latest update this same issue has been happening a lot when win+shifting the window to another monitor. and alt f4 doesn't even kill it anymore, only going into the task manager and shutting it off there
so I suppose there hasn't been any updates regarding this?
