Does cross-platform screen recording still require permission?

Well, custom recording is scheduled for Q1 this year and aims to avoid this permission. Will keep you posted.

Hi @halcyon saddle ...It's been a while since I've update my app, and I'm doing it now. When I do an update, I like to check in with you guys to see if you have implemented the custom recording feature yet that does not trigger the system screen record prompt each time the user wants to record on iOS and Android.

Can you advise if you have been able to implement this yet? And, if not, are there any updated timelines? Thanks

I haven't purchased the plugin yet, but I'd like to know when exactly the permission/authorization dialog pops up. Does it appear every time I start a recording, or only once per app launch/session?

Its a privacy focused alert dialog from android os to make user aware that its about to record. Yes, it does currently show up on fresh app launch.

So the privacy alert only shows on a fresh app launch, and after that I can start and stop recording freely within the same session without any further dialogs — is that correct?

On every launch and jst before you call StartRecording. Only one time per session
