we already know the monster is dangerous. that’s not the reason to avoid it. avoiding the threat delays contact until it’s less understood.
rebuilding the rocket and "leaving" abandons the problem. the monster is still alive and underground and still capable of causing damage. if it followed us here once, there’s no logic that says it won’t follow again or cause destruction before anyone even leaves.

"why risk our lives" rebuilding first is also a risk, but just a passive one lmao. you're betting that the monster doesn't do anything.
