Could you please change auto belt pathing so that it doesn't create a longer-than-needed (and thus more expensive) line when connecting two ports directly?
There is no reason for this path (in image) to need that extra loop-back. This is a frequent issue.

Rework of the autopath is planned in near-ish future 🙂
And there is always an option to turn off path-finding via L hotkey, while we are working on this upgrade
