#Max amount in storage

It would be helpful to have a storage container that has a setting for max amount. Like 100 microprocessors is plenty for now, so I don't need a completely full container and that tool can go idle.

Here's an example: modular terminals. They need THIRTY TWO micro circuits (MC) per. But right now, in the game, I only really need a reserve of about 40 of them. So I should be able to attach a storage container to the output, set that "Max Amount" to 40 and just leave that priority on that fab to normal. That way the fab will only be used whenever there are 40 MT in the storage (plus whatever is on the conveyor). That way the rest of the MC can be used for other projects. I need MC for a lot of other projects.

As it is, when I have enough MTs I have to disable the MT fab, which is micro management.

You’ll need more than 100. In late game there will be contracts asking between 200-300

The drones will take excess as needed, so there's no upside to limiting storage capacity. All you'd get is more confusing ui.

Now, limiting how many can be taken out by conveyor so theres always a handful for drones to get, that'd be useful.

Agreed, I'd like to set up lots of storage silos all connected by a single belt to the FCC inputs and then dial up how many items of each kind I want transferring.

Okay, but in the early game I'd like to limit the amount created.

These kind of factory games always suffer from this problem: I can't control how many of a thing is actually made, which is very unhelpful. Because sometimes I'm throwing resources into something that I already have too much of and I have to manipulate the belts/ factories to fix that.

I would vastly prefer something like a work order system.

No, it works fine. Let the storages fill as much as they like, and if there's ever a lack of items, with some on a conveyor you can get at them. It's not a problem.

But then you're micromanaging, if you need more than will fit in the fabs internal storage, then you're in 256+ territory anyway.

And as they get used up, you build more, so your resources used to build are always being consumed.

you're missing the point still, but I'm not gonna invest more time

I'm just gonna add that early in game, you are stretched for resources and cannot automate everything.
The way it currently works you have to constantly turn factories on/off to avoid having all your resources turned into, say, chips. Chips are expensive, but you really need to have a small storage of them.
What you absolutely don't want is having 256 of them when you're still building up your base.
