#Please, guarantee 1 of each resource node around the elevator

I have started a new save due to the previous one being borked by an update. And there is no aluminium resource node in an 40x40-ish grid maybe more. 120x90 excavated area and a very much larger scanned area. Previous guess was apparently very conservative

The multi-smelter will generally give you “some” resource that isn’t the primary one from a node…

Just saying…

Yes it will but I agree with OP.

By default, there should be one of each resource node close to the elevator. The first two should be visible, like it is now, and the other two should be nearby in fixed positions but 'buried' when the accident happened.

The reason for this should be to answer the question: 'Why build the base in this specific spot?' Because they found four nodes close to each other and decided to build there.

I also think that by default, one of the four sides should have a fixed empty space close to the elevator. This space should be where the player decides to build their factory or living quarters.

Until you either get the MDR I think it was? the mobile mining rig. I am stuck(so far) with no Al in my base. I am forced to buy it. And I don't have contracts yet. Meaning that I can't make fuel, I can't reliably make beds or medium solar panels or big batteries.

Per Aspera does what I suggested. There, you can make and plonk down as many bases as you want and use them as hubs for expansion. For every base, you will get 1 of each resource deposits around that base at various distances to give you the chance to get it up and running if you don't have access to long range material hauling

Eventually you will get the MDR and the ability to build them, then you go out and get all the resources. The stuff underground is just to get your started. I have not come across an instance so far in my game where I have been lacking any resources. I have though encountered where the mine scanner doesn't pick up some of the ores and they become uncovered one my mining bots clear the area.

You get the better amounts from the MDR. I have 3 MDR out getting resources for me, and I am running out of space to store it all. I wish there were even larger storage containers.

I know, but I'm far away from getting an MDR, have 50-ish days remaining until Hope-2 crashes. I can't even make beds. I don't have contracts and most of the stuff I make goes for 15k profit/ 100 units. And I already bought Al to be able to make solar panels and batteries.

Sandbox mode is the way to go.

So much more fun and I have learned much more from the game doing sandbox.

They still need to smooth out things with the campaign. The demands they throw at you while you're trying to figure things out is too much.
